Historically Beautiful Events before the MXGP of Patagonia-Argentina
NEUQUEN (Patagonia-Argentina), 17 March 2017 - With racing beginning Saturday at the MXGP of Patagonia-Argentina, the third round of the 2017 FIM Motocross World Championship held two events to kick off the weekend.
First was the media event held at the historic Correntoso River & Lakeside Hotel, the prestigious hotel is the oldest in the Neuquen province and one of the most famous of the area. In its 100th year of existence, the hotel welcomed Youthstream CEO Daniele Rizzi, FIM/CMS Director Tony Skillington, Argentina Minister of Tourism Gustavo Santos, Neuquen Minister of Tourism Jose Brillo, Villa La Angostura Major Guillermo Carusso and President of Neuquen Tur Marisa Focarasso together with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Glenn Coldenhoff and Pauls Jonass, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Gautier Paulin, Max Nagl, Max Anstie, Thomas Kjer Olsen and Conrad Mewse, Team HRC’s Tim Gajser, Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team's Clement Desalle, Monster Energy DRT Kawasaki's Darian Sanayei and Vsevolod Bryliakow, Team Monster Energy Kawasaki MX2’s Stephen Rubini and Yannick Fabre, Wilvo Yamaha MXGP’s Shaun Simpson and Arnaud Tonus, Team Honda Redmoto Assomotor’s Alessandro Lupino, Suzuki World MXGP’s Arminas Jasikonis and Kevin Strijbos, Suzuki World MX2’s Bas Vaessen, Hunter Lawrence and Jeremy Seewer and TM Racing Factory’s Samuele Bernardini.
To start a lunch was provided with a host of local dishes and meats, followed with a Tango performance by local dancers, the dancers then interacted with riders and the rest of the guests.
The event continued with a warm welcome from Argentina Minister of Tourism Gustavo Santos and the other officials, who stated their pleasure in having such an important and international event like the FIM Motocross World Championship in Patagonia followed by a speech from Youthstream CEO Daniele Rizzi and FIM/CMS Director Tony Skillington who expressed their appreciation to be back in Neuquen for the third year.
To finish the media event riders were able to tour the tranquil Nahuel Huapi Lake via a chartered boat.
Later Friday afternoon another event was held in the city center of Villa La Angostura where riders were introduced to fans following live music on stage.
Afterward an autograph session took place with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Antonio Cairoli, Jeffrey Herlings, Glenn Coldenhoff, Pauls Jonass and Jorge Prado, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Thomas Covington, Thomas Kjer Olsen and Conrad Mewse, Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team's Clement Desalle and Jordi Tixier, Monster Energy DRT Kawasaki Darian Sanayei and Vsevolod Bryliakow, Wilvo Yamaha MXGP’s Shaun Simpson and Arnaud Tonus, Kemea Yamaha Official Team’s Benoit Paturel, Alvin Ostlund and Brent Van doninck, Team Honda Redmoto Assomotor’s Alessandro Lupino, Suzuki World MXGP’s Arminas Jasikonis and Kevin Strijbos, Suzuki World MX2’s Bas Vaessen, Hunter Lawrence and Jeremy Seewer, IFly JK Racing’s Jay Wilson, HSF Logistics Motorsport’ Calvin Vlaanderen and Davy Pootjes and the many enthusiastic and loving Argentinian fans.
