Lars Van Berkel Fill In Temporarily at HSF Logistics Motorsport Team

Lars van Berkel from Veghel will temporarily stand in for the injured Calvin Vlaanderen and Davy Pootjes in the HSF Logistics Motorsport Team. The team has suffered more than its share of injury setbacks, as Calvin is out with a broken thumb and Davy with a shoulder injury. Since Van Berkel is a free agent, it was an easy choice to rope him in for the coming GP's.

Van Berkel finished fifth in the Dutch Masters of Motocross last year, and in the first heat of the MX2 GP at Assen, he finished a career best fourth. The tie-up with the team offers him the opportunity to build on his auspicious start in GP racing.

The team will spend this week setting up the bike to Lars' preferences and next weekend he will roll out for action at the German GP at Teutschenthal. Brian Bogers will again take his place at the start line, and will be hoping to resume his rising line in performances, which has seen him marked as a candidate for top five results.

Team manager Joep Teunesen said: " We are faced with the reality of two injured riders, which prompted us to offer Lars the opportunity to slot in for the team. Lars is fit and can head out to the races straight away. I have no doubt that he will get used to the KTM without much trouble and that he will perform to his best. The team wishes Calvin and Davy a quick recovery, and they hope to welcome them on the bikes again soon."
