MONACO (Principality of Monaco) 2 October 2024 - Infront Moto Racing is excited to have Acerbis as sponsor of the Best Lap Competition for both the MXGP and MX2 classes for the second consecutive year during the 2024 FIM Motocross World Championship.
This season has once again proven to be unforgettable, with both the MXGP and MX2 classes delivering, right to the last races of the season, thrilling battles, incredible overtakes and numerous memorable moments that MXGP fans will cherish for years to come. The Acerbis Best Lap competition highlights the pinnacle of these moments, honoring the fastest riders in each class with well-deserved recognition and reward.
How does the competition work?
At the end of each Grand Prix, the rider with the fastest lap in both MXGP and MX2 earns a point in the Acerbis Best Lap Competition. The rider with the most points in each class by the end of the championship season is awarded a prize from Acerbis at the annual MXGP Awards Ceremony.
In the 2024 season, Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado dominated the MXGP class with 14 Acerbis Best Laps, while Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Lucas Coenen led the MX2 category with 8 Acerbis Best Laps.
Prado’s dominance in MXGP was remarkable, securing 70% of the Acerbis Best Laps throughout the season. The remaining 6 Acerbis Best Laps were claimed by Jeffrey Herlings with four laps, while Tim Gajser took 2 Acerbis Best Laps
In MX2, Lucas Coenen displayed incredible speed, followed by Simon Laengenfelder and Andrea Adamo, each securing 3 Acerbis Best Laps, while Sacha Coenen finished with 2 Acerbis Best Laps.
Prado and L.Coenen were both presented with their Acerbis Best Lap awards during the MXGP Awards ceremony, which was broadcasted globally through live streams on MXGP's Facebook and YouTube channels, as well as www.MXGP-TV.com.
