ACERBIS BEST LAP SET BY FERNANDEZ AND GEERTS IN ITALY

It’s time for Acerbis Best Lap! The MXGP of Italy took place in the historical Maggiora Park for the eighteenth round of 2023 FIM Motocross World Championship.

What a celebratory weekend in Maggiora for the MXGP of Italy that witnessed the crowning of two new World Champions with Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing's Jorge Prado in MXGP and Red Bull KTM Factiory Racing Andrea Adamo in MX2. While both riders won their respective Championship, it was two different riders who set the fastest laps of the Grand Prix.

In MXGP, it was another Spanish rider, Team HRC's Ruben Fernandez who was the fastest in Maggiora to get his first best lap of the season. The MXGP World Champion Jorge Prado still leads the competition with six fastest time this season in front of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jeffrey Herlings who has four.

In MX2 it was Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 Team’s Jago Geerts who rose up to the occasion with his 6th best lap of the season along with the Grand PRix victory.   who set the fastest lap on a tough Grand Prix for the Itlian who finished 6th overall. Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 Team’s Jago Geerts increase his lead in the competition with 6 Best Lap in front of the new MX2 World Champion Andrea Adamo who has 4 Best Laps.

MXGP: Ruben Fernandez on Race 2 Lap 16 with 1:48.845

MX2: Jago Geerts on Race 2 Lap 5 with 1:48.200
 

In order to remind fans of what the competition consists of; at the end of each event, the fastest rider in MXGP and MX2 will obtain a point. The rider with the most points in each class at the conclusion of the Championship will receive a prize from ACERBIS, which will be awarded at the MXGP Awards.
