BACK TO BACK FOR THE MXGP ACADEMY AT THE LIQUI MOLY MXGP OF GERMANY AND MXGP OF LATVIA

The MXGP Academy took place for the third and fourth time in 2024 at the Liqui Moly MXGP of Germany at Teutschenthal last weekend and at Kegums for the MXGP of Latvia where aspiring young motocross riders have come together to polish their talents and discover what is required to compete professionally in the FIM Motocross World Championship.

The youngsters learned from the experienced John van de Berk, Jan Postema, and Martin van Genderen, as well as local trainers throughout Friday and Saturday.

In Germany and Latvia, the MXGP Academy began as usual on the Friday with a riders and parents briefing, followed by a rider’s education session where they learned more about safety rules, such as flag signals and what is the appropriate reaction and received other advice from the coaches.

     

The MXGP Academy had an amazing visit to the Skybox Restaurant at Teutschenthal where the young riders attended a special talk from MIPS CEO Max Strandwitz, who spoke about helmet safety and the technology that some top-tier riders use. To top off this thrilling moment, MIPS gifted each young rider a brand-new helmet from different brands featuring MIPS technology, a great gift that the riders will cherish for a long time, and perfectly suited for the demanding aspects of motocross.

On their respective Saturday morning, the youngsters from Germany and Latvia had the incredible opportunity to dive into the heart of MXGP paddock life. At Teutschenthal, they went for an insightful tour of the Twin Air facilities and an exciting visit F&H Racing Team. Then in both weeks, the Academy went inside the impressive Red Bull hospitality truck while at Kegums, youngsters also had the opportunity to get inside the KTM Factory Racing structure were also shown the Pirelli truck to understand the tyres’ preparations before the races.

There will be three more MXGP Academy coaching opportunities during the 2024 season in Czech Republic, Loket; Turkiye, Afyonkarahisar; and Spain, Cozar.
