Cairoli & Fontanesi burn rubber in Monza

Last weekend the famous Monster Energy Monza Rally took place in Monza, Italy where FIM Motocross World Champions Antonio Cairoli and Kiara Fontanesi tried their hands at rally car racing.

The eight-time FIM Motocross World Champion, Antonio Cairoli, also known as Tony to his millions of fans, raced for Team Magneti Marelli Checkstar with Matteo Romano as his navigator. The duo, Cairoli and Romano raced their Citroen DS3 WRC to an outstanding sixth over all.

Tony, who clearly has a talent for anything with an engine and wheels, casually improved over the weekend managing two podium finishes on Sunday. After the event Tony said, “It has been a great experience and I’m very satisfied on how the race went, even if I couldn’t reach 4th position because of some mistakes. I want to thank Magneti Marelli Checkstar for this opportunity and the whole Team for their professionalism”.

The likeable female motocross sensation thoroughly enjoyed the experience expressing her excitement on her social media accounts Facebook and Instagram which you can view by clicking the links. The three-times WMX world champion said, “I really had fun, it was amazing to drive beside Pablo even, the role of navigator is not that simple. I’d like to do it again but next time I would like to try to drive a rally car. The races went good and I want to thank the Team and Pablo for their support.”
