FRANCESCO ZERBI: A LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP IN MOTORSPORT

MONACO (Principality of Monaco) 25th June 2025 – It is with profound sadness that Infront Moto Racing announces the passing of Francesco Zerbi (1932–2025). A towering figure in motorcycle sport, Zerbi served as FIM President from 1995 to 2006 and later held the title of Honorary President. His lifelong dedication to motorsport profoundly shaped its growth across the globe.

Francesco Zerbi’s influence is felt across generations. He began his FIM journey in 1977 and became President of Italy’s FMI in 1979. Promoted to FIM Vice‑President in 1982 and Deputy President in 1984, he was elected FIM President in 1995, leading the organisation through three terms until 2006. In 2007, he was named FIM Honorary President in recognition of his prominent service.
