Klemen Gercar takes on a new challenge

2013 FIM MX3 World Champion and 2014 MXGP Championship contender, Slovenian Klemen Gercar has taken on many changes for the up coming season.

Gercar has formed his own team 62 MotorSport and has opted to race all the European rounds of the FIM Motocross World Championship as well as the ADAC Championship which takes place in Germany and of course his own national series in Slovenia. Gercar will also be under the wing of one of the most sought after trainers in the business, Harry Everts.

Despite having a few other offers on the table, Gercar opted to join forces with Husqvarna Motorcycles with the brand agreeing to support Gercar in the formation of his own team, which will also make history as the first Slovenian team to compete in the premier FIM Motocross World Championship class, MXGP.

In Gercar’s opinion there are many benefits of having your own team. He believes you save a lot of time not having to co-ordinate activities with another team and also having instant access to things such as the workshop, bikes and spare-parts. Of course he realizes he now has to take care of his own logistics, but he is happy that Husqvarna have agreed to provide him with motorcycle parts which will also assist the parts budget he has from his after-market product sponsors.

Gercar is convinced he has made the right decision. He believes in his trainer/mentor, Harry Everts, and he believes in his own ability and dedication. His set up for 2015 will consist of two mechanics, one training mechanic and one racing. He will be operating from his own garage in Slovenia where he already has four new Husqvarna Motorcycles all set up and ready for the new season.
