MXGP Academy Activities in Teutschenthal, Germany

The MXGP Academy is taking place for the fourth time in 2023 at the Liqui Moly MXGP of Germany at Teutschenthal this weekend. It was an opportunity for ambitious young motocross riders to get together to sharpen their skills and learn what it takes to participate professionally in the FIM Motocross World Championship.
The youngsters learned from the experienced Jan Postema, Martin van Genderen and John van de Berk as well as local trainers throughout Friday and Saturday.
The MXGP Academy opened out on Friday with a briefing for riders and parents, followed by a rider education session where they learned more about safety standards, such as flag signals as well as additional guidance from the coaches.
Following the rider training, the parents were briefed and taught the importance of communication as well as how to mix verbal and nonverbal tactics. The day concluded with a riding session in which riders were able to practice and learn fundamental techniques from the trainers.
The youngsters got the opportunity to immerse themselves in the MXGP paddock culture on Saturday morning, and were fortunate to enjoy a tour of the outstanding facilities of Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Team, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and Red Bull. They also took this opportunity to visit the structures of the German team WZ Racing Team as well as looking around at the TwinAir’s facilities on site to give them an all-round overview of motocross.
There will be four more MXGP Academy coaching opportunities during the 2023 season in Czech Republic, Finland, The Netherlands and Turkyie.
