MXGP ACADEMY LAUNCHED 2025 SEASON IN PORTUGAL AND SPAIN WITH TWO SUCCESSFUL TRAINING ROUNDS

The 2025 MXGP Academy season officially kicked off with two inspiring and well-attended training sessions held during the MXGP of Portugal in Águeda and the MXGP of Spain in Lugo. These events marked the first two rounds of this year’s Academy program and proved to be a fantastic success, bringing young talents one step closer to the professional world of motocross.
Led by instructors Jan Postema and Martin van Genderen, in collaboration with local coaches, the two-day programs in both Portugal and Spain offered a comprehensive mix of on-track training and educational workshops. Young riders, along with their parents, took part in sessions focused on technique, safety, discipline, and race preparation, the key building blocks in developing future champions.
Each event also included a guided tour of the MXGP paddock, where the participants had the opportunity to visit the sport’s most iconic team structures and support areas. Riders stepped inside the Red Bull structures, explored the Monster Energy Yamaha Racing tent, and visited the 100% goggles technical zone along with the Pirelli and Dunlop tire service trucks. These visits gave the young athletes a 360-degree view of the elite motocross environment, sparking excitement and ambition for the future.
The weekends began with a dedicated briefing for riders and their parents, emphasizing the importance of communication, development, and support throughout a young rider’s journey. The parental sessions also offered insights into best practices for guidance and motivation at home and on the track.
As the MXGP Academy is heading to France this weekend for a special women-only MXGP Academy with World Champion Livia Lancelot , offering female riders a dedicated platform to develop their skills and gain experience at the highest level. This will be followed by upcoming stops in Germany, Latvia, Czech Republic and Turkiye as the academy is shaping up to be one of the most impactful yet.
