THE MXGP ACADEMY SHINES AT LOKET IN 2024

This weekend, the MXGP of Czech Republic at Loket hosted the fifth round of the MXGP Academy, where young motocross enthusiasts gathered to refine their skills and understand the demands of competing in the FIM Motocross World Championship.
The aspiring riders received expert guidance from renowned coaches John van de Berk, Jan Postema, and Martin van Genderen, along with local trainers from the Czech Motorcycle Federation. The academy kicked off on Friday with a briefing for riders and parents, followed by an educational session focusing on safety protocols, including flag signals and appropriate responses, as well as other valuable advice from the coaches.
On Saturday morning, the young Czech riders had the extraordinary chance to immerse themselves in the world of MXGP paddock life. They toured the Monster Energy Yamaha MX2 facilities, meeting Rick Elzinga and Karlis Reisulis.

The experience continued with a visit to the impressive Team HRC truck, where they got an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Red Plate holder Tim Gajser’s setup. The day culminated with an insightful presentation from Alpinestars at the Red Bull KTM hospitality area, emphasising the importance of safety gear and providing a comprehensive understanding of the motocross world.

Looking ahead, there are two more MXGP Academy coaching sessions scheduled for the 2024 season in Afyonkarahisar, Turkey, and Cózar, Spain.
