PIRELLI WINS ITS 82ND MOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE WITH JORGE PRADO

A season dominated by riders equipped with Pirelli SCORPION™ MX32™ tyres, who won 19 out of 20 Grands Prix, taking 18 pole positions and winning 37 out of 40 heats

Pirelli also wins the EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing European Motocross Championship with Noel Zanocz.

The last Grand Prix of the 2024 season of the FIM Motocross World Championship crowned Jorge Prado (RedBull GasGas Factory Racing) World Champion of the MXGP class, a title won also thanks to the performance of the Pirelli SCORPION™ MX32™ tyres fitted to his GasGas MC 450F.

For Pirelli, the title won by Prado is the 82nd world motocross title, crowning a record-breaking season for the brand of P logo and its riders: out of a total of 20 contested, the Grand Prix won were 19, the pole positions 18 and the heats 37 out of 40. In practice, the red plate has always been firmly in the hands of Pirelli drivers.

The final championship classification even sees an all-Pirelli podium: Jorge Prado, Tim Gajser (HRC team) second, and Jeffrey Herlings (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) third.

After a championship of twenty GPs, fought until the last heat, the MXGP title was decided in Spain at the GP of Castilla la Mancha disputed on the Cozar track, where the Spaniard Jorge Prado arrived with seven points ahead of Slovenian Tim Gajser.

After Saturday's qualifying, Prado's championship lead over Gajser had increased by two points, but it was Sunday's two rainbow heats that decided the fate of the season's podium: first in race one and fourth in race two, Prado eventually had ten points more than Gajser, and won his fourth world championship title after those won in 2018 and 2019 in MX2, and last year in MXGP, again on Pirelli tyres.

The final round of the 125 Motocross European Championship completed a successful weekend for Pirelli, with Hungarian rider Noel Zanocz (Fantic) winning the championship, and Italian Simone Mancini (Fantic) taking third place.

The Pirelli SCORPION™ MX motocross tyre range includes SCORPION™ MX Soft for soft terrain such as mud and sand, SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft for medium-soft terrain and SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Hard for harder terrain. In line with Pirelli's philosophy in motorbike racing, all these tyres are not prototypes but production tyres that every motocross-loving rider can buy from their trusted dealer.
