Successful Sportel for MXGP in Monaco

MONACO (Principality of Monaco) 12 October 2021 – Infront Moto Racing were in attendance of the 30th edition of the Sportel convention in Monaco, the annual meeting where sports-rights and media coverage are discussed, to finalise the positive TV coverage of the upcoming 2022 season of the FIM Motocross World Championship.

Head of TV Department Charlotte Menard was present together with Infront media sales representatives where she had the occasion to meet some of our main TV partners to negotiate renewals and new contracts for the future years.

A discussion took place with Motorvision for further worldwide coverage from 2023, as well as with Eurosport to continue until the end of 2022 and look forward to a renewal.

The same was for Telenet in Belgium and Automoto La Chaine in France, with both channels continuing until the end of the 2022 season and excited for a renewal, while NOS in the Netherlands has extended the existing agreement for 2022.

In Spain TV Galicia and MXGP are starting to discuss a renewal for the upcoming season, while Movistar is set to continue to showcase the 26min Behind-the-Gate magazine.

Potential new deals include increased PAN TV coverage in South America, with negotiations in place for additional broadcasters, as well as more interest from countries including Germany, United Kingdom and Kosovo.

In addition to meetings with the TV partners, Infront Moto Racing’s technical partners including Cleeng, Wildmoka, Eurovision, TMG and Nielsen were also present at Sportel, which gave the perfect opportunity to discuss the steps made in 2021 and review possible improvements for the next season.

Overall, the convention was very positive for Infront Moto Racing, with some important negotiations made in order to increase the coverage of MXGP worldwide.
