WELCOME CEREMONY KICKS OFF THE MXGP OF TURKIYE IN AFYON

AFYONKARAHISAR (Turkiye) 1 September 2023 – The 2023 MXGP of Turkiye was officially launched by the welcome ceremony that took place on the main stage of the Afyon Moto Festival next to the paddock and in front of a huge crowd coming to celebrate the seventeenth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship.
The whole paddock collective with the MXGP, MX2, WMX and EMX250 riders attended the celebrations to take in the atmosphere and sample the local delicacies. All the riders together with the officials who included Infront Moto Racing COO Daniele Rizzi, FIM/CMS Director Antonio Alia Portela, TMF Vice President Mahmut Nedim Akülke, Afyonkarahisar Mayor Mehmet Zeybek, Forestry and Water Minister Veysel Eroğlu, Akparti Afyonkarahisar Deputy Hasan Arslan, Akparti Afyonkarahisar Deputy İbrahim Yurdunuseven and Afyonkarahisar Governor Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı joined the officials for the Family photo and were welcomed warmly by the crowd in a joyful atmosphere for the greater enjoyment of everyone present.
The evening followed with speeches from the officials were they all expressed how delighted they were to be back in Afyon for the MXGP of Turkiye.
Infront Moto Racing COO Daniele Rizzi: "We wish to thank very much the highly represented authorities for their support, including the Motorcycling Federation for their very active approach: that's made us come here for many years. We are happy to be here and it's a pleasure to share this evening and this weekend of racing with you."
FIM/CMS Director Antonio Alia Portela: “Good evening on behalf of the FIM I would like to welcome you to this spectacular venue for the MXGP of Turkiye here in Afyon. We have been here for many years we hope to be back for many more. I hope you enjoy the races as the weather is going to be very fine. The riders are here to give their all and engrave their name on the trophies of the MXGP of Turkiye. Thank you very much to the politicians and authorities who have favoured these events."
Afyonkarahisar Governor Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı: "Since 2018, the World Motocross Championship has been held in Afyonkarahisar and we have received many awards. The races of the championship are delivered to more than 180 countries by 22 different broadcasting organizations. Almost over 3 billion people are our potential audience. MXGP is a very important sports organization and contributed to the promotion of Afyonkarahisar and Turkiye."
Afyonkarahisar Mayor Mehmet Zeybek: “We are making efforts to make Afyonkarahisar a city of festivals and organizations and our event reaches up to 350 thousand people.”
TMF Vice President Mahmut Nedim Akülk: “We wish the racers a safe and trouble-free organization. Our event grows up extremely big and reach up to 350 thousand people. We thank Afyonkarahisar and everyone."
