Jeremy Seewer interview

The 2013 EMX250 runner-up Swiss rider Jeremy Seewer is slowly putting together some pretty good performances of late. Having finished the 2014 season in 10th place in the MX2 class Seewer is working hard to achieve something above that.

Due to a growing confidence and a good bike set-up he has put himself in a very good position in the MX2 championship points. After nine rounds of the 2015 MX2 championship he is placed seventh, and is just 13 points off second placed man Valentin Guillod.

While Red Bull KTM Factory rider Jeffrey Herlings is streaking away from the opposition, the next five riders are in a heated battle for that very important runner-up place and Seewer is very much in the mix.

At Maggiora last weekend the 20 year old Seewer scored third overall with 4-3 results. It was a little of a lottery with the weather and a good start in both motos was the most important goal for all the riders. For Seewer the start proved to be his strong point, but it didn’t come with some drama. We caught up with him and asked him about his weekend.

Q: Jeremy, you looked very strong in both motos, you must have been happy with that?

Seewer: Actually I had a good feeling with the bike on the track, my suspension was good and my engine was awesome. I had a lot of confidence. My starts have not been the best, but my focus was on the start, because I saw on the sighting lap that it was just one line because of the rain and mud.

Q: How did you start that opening moto then?

Seewer: I was third or fourth after the first corner, but I had a lot of mud on my goggles and I had to throw them away. The front guys were well away, but also behind me there was a big gap, and I finished fourth.

Q: Second moto was a dog fight with Anstie wasn’t it?

Seewer: The second race was crazy as I came together with Tonkov in the first corner, we both had the holeshot, he pushed me into the mud, and I was in seventh, made some passes then two guys crashed in front of me. I had a good battle with Anstie and managed to finish in third. We also closed up to Jeffrey and Tim in the end and I was really happy with my second moto.
