MXGP 2026 CALENDAR UPDATE BRINGS HISTORIC RETURNS AND A SPECTACULAR SEASON KICK-OFF

MONACO (Principality of Monaco) 28 November 2025 — Infront Moto Racing is pleased to announce several important updates to the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship calendar, further strengthening MXGP and restoring one of its most iconic venues to the series.

The 2026 season will now officially begin on 7- 8 March, with the MXGP of Argentina returning to the spectacular region of Patagonia at the new lakeside circuit of Bariloche. The event will be the championship’s grand opening round, offering fans a stunning backdrop and a celebrated atmosphere to kick off the MXGP and MX2 campaigns.

One of the most significant highlights of the revised calendar is the return of Great Britain’s Foxhills circuit, which will host the MXGP of Great Britain on 18-19 July. This marks 26 years since Foxhills last welcomed a Motocross Grand Prix, reintroducing one of the most historic British venues to the world stage. The event will feature MXGP, MX2, WMX and EMX125, ensuring a weekend of world-class action for British and international fans alike.

Elsewhere on the calendar, Montevarchi will now host a streamlined program with EMX250 as its sole European class for 2026. In addition, there will be two TBAs, with the first one scheduled for 25-26 April and will include WMX and EMX125, adding competitive depth to this key spring fixture. The second TBA is scheduled for the 9-10 May.

The latest update will concern the FIM Europe European Motocross Championships as the EMX250 class will replace the EMX125 in Lommel during the MXGP of Flanders alongside the traditional EMX Open.

The updated 2026 MXGP calendar reflects the championship’s commitment to deliver the strongest calendar possible and competitive racing across all classes. With a balance of tradition and expansion, the upcoming season promises to deliver one of the most diverse and exciting racing calendars in MXGP history.

CRAWFORDSVILLE (Indiana, USA) 2 October 2025 – Infront Moto Racing is thrilled to present the provisional 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship Calendar, featuring 20 rounds across some of the sport’s most iconic and challenging venues. The season will conclude with the prestigious Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations in Ernée, France, on 4 October 2026.

The 2026 season will begin on 22 February with a yet-to-be-announced venue before heading to Argentina on 8 March, on a location to be announced soon for the now traditional South American round. Two weeks later, MXGP heads to Spain for the Doñana Xperience Almonte MXGP of Andalucia, taking place for the very first time in Almonte in the province of Huelva, in the heart of the Andalusian region on 22 March for the first European outing, followed directly by Switzerland in Frauenfeld on 29 March, the first back-to-back races of the year.

Then there will be a strong spring block in EuropeApril will see the Italian double-header with Riola Sardo (Sardegna) on 12 April and Pietramurata (Trentino) on 19 April, both firm and regular fixtures in the early MXGP calendar.

The championship resumes after a two-week break in Great Britain on 10 May at a venue to be announce shortly, before an intense triple-header unfolds:

  • France (Lacapelle Marival) on 24 May
  • Germany (Teutschenthal) on 31 May
  • Latvia (Kegums) on 7 June

Then summer heat will start to come as the series travels back to Italy, with Montevarchi hosting the MXGP of Italy on 21 June, followed by another back-to-back pairing with Portugal (Águeda) on 28 June.

After a short pause, July resumes with a hot triple header, comprising of a TBA event on 19 July, before moving straight to Czech Republic (Loket) on 26 July. The back-to-back flows directly into Flanders (Lommel) on 2 August, creating a high-intensity triple-header.

In August, the action heads north with Sweden (Uddevalla) on 16 August and the Netherlands (Arnhem) on 23 August, another back-to-back weekend to close the European summer.

The decisive overseas phase of the championship begins the grand finale in September with a triple-header:

  • Turkiye (Afyonkarahisar) on 6 September
  • China (Shanghai) on 13 September
  • Australia (Darwin) on 20 September

This challenging run of three consecutive overseas races will bring the 2026 season to a spectacular close.

ALVISI HOLDS HIS NERVE TO CLINCH THE 2025 EMX125 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP AS BERVOETS WINS THE LOMMEL ROUND

LOMMEL (Flanders, Belgium) 3rd August 2025 – The final round of the EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing season at Lommel delivered a nail-biting conclusion to an already intense championship battle between Racestore KTM Factory Juniors Nicolò Alvisi and Yamaha Europe EMX125 MJC’s Mano Faure. Coming into the weekend separated by just six point, every move on the treacherous Belgian sand carried massive weight for the title. The stakes could not have been higher as the deep, demanding sand of Lommel provided the ultimate test for these rising stars.

Alvisi in the end kept his nerve with the direct battle with Faure when it mattered most. His composure under pressure secured him the overall points lead and crowned him the 2025 EMX125 presented by FMF Racing European Champion.

In Race 1, Yamaha Europe EMX125 MJC’s Jarne Bervoets got the best launch from the gate and immediately took control of the race ahead of Moritz Ernecker from Motovation Motorsport and Filippo Mantovani. The key focus, however, was on the title contenders: Mano Faure and Nicolò Alvisi. While Faure made a strong start in third position, Alvisi’s championship lead was in jeopardy when he tangled in the opening corners and dropped outside the top twenty. Things got even worse moments later when he tipped over again, falling back to 27th place.

Similarly, Douwe Van Mechgelen from Fantic Factory Racing EMX125 had a nightmare after a great start as he placed himself in third position, his bike let him down on lap 3 of 13 and had to retire form the race.

Out front, Faure wasted no time in moving past Ernecker for second before the end of the first lap, giving chase to Bervoets as the leading pair of teammates quickly broke away. Behind them, Dani Heitink was charging hard, eventually overcoming TM Moto CRD Motosport’s Niccolo Mannini and Mantovani and joining the podium battle for a full Yamaha top 3.

Alvisi started to regroup, working his way back into the points by mid-race, but another crash around 18th place sent him back down to 22nd. Meanwhile, battles developed inside the top five, with Jekabs Kubulins from JK Racing duelling Mantovani for fourth and sealing the position with a decisive move on lap 9. Motovation Motosport’s Dean Gregoire also benefitted from the reshuffle to move into fifth and stay there following a bad start. The young Dutch managed to overtake incessantly to come from the back in 16th place on the turn of the opening lap.

Alvisi showed amazing resilience and began a late-race charge, passing MSC Imbach MX Racing Team’s Riccardo Bauer and then Mantovani to climb to an important sixth place. Despite, crashing on the very last lap again just two corners from the finish, the Italian fortunately remounted quickly enough to retain sixth place, preventing Mantovani from capitalising on it.

At the front, Bervoets remained untouchable, taking a commanding win by 11 seconds over Faure, who brought the championship battle down to a single point going into the final race. Heitink completed the podium ahead of Kubulins and Gregoire.

The final race of the EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing season started with championship tension high between Alvisi and Faure. Faure got the jump out of the gate and was on the verge of the holeshot but went down in the first corner, dropping him to the back. This seemed to hand an early advantage to Alvisi, but the Italian was also buried deep in the pack around 18th place.

Out front, it was the usual fast starter Ernecker who once again took the holeshot but Bervoets quickly passed to take the lead in front of Bauer and Ernecker, who later retired from the race on lap 2. However Bauer took control on lap 3 of 13 as he passed Bervoets although he would give the position back a couple of laps later to regain the lead on lap 8 and never looked back. Kubulins managed to get himself in top 3 early on.

In the big battle for the championship, Faure remounted quickly after his first‑corner crash and began charging through the field, determined to keep his title hopes alive. Mid‑race, he put on an impressive move to overtake Alvisi, briefly reigniting the championship battle as whoever finished ahead would claim the crown. But Alvisi responded immediately, striking back to retake the position and then pulling away as Faure made another costly mistake. The title was getting cvlearer with Alvisi, slicing through the deep sand of Lommel to move up methodically up to 2nd on lap 10.

Further up, Bauer was in command, maintaining a gap of just over a second on the future champion who showed what he was made of. After getting passed by Alvisi, Kubulins, regrouped and secured third position ahead of Van Mechegelen and Bervoets. Faure’s hopes of keeping his title challenge alive faded as he struggled to break into the top ten, eventually finishing at a heartbreaking 11th.

At the line, Bauer claimed his first race win of the season, just one second ahead of Alvisi, with Kubulins in third. Van Mechegelen and Bervoets completed the top five. Alvisi’s second place was enough to clinch the 2025 EMX125 European Championship, finishing 11 points clear of Faure. The Italian showed that he was the best this year after showing great consistency over the season.

The overall round win went to Jarne Bervoets who won his first round on the very first outing in Castilla La Mancha, do it again on the last one of the season, dompting the toughest track of the year at home, with a 1–5 score, Ricardo Bauer was second overall (8–1) and Jekabs Kubulins third (4–3).

Nicolò Alvisi: " This season started good, but race by race I got better and now I finish first in the end! It’s unbelievable for me. I’m so happy to win this championship. Thank you to my family, my sponsors and my team for all the support.”

While Nicolò Alvisi narrowly missed the podium with a 6–2 result, the Italian had the biggest reason to celebrate as he claimed the coveted EMX125 presented by FMF Racing title. Mano Faure missed his opportunity to claim the European crown after a strong season and multiple race wins but can console himself with the prestigious FIM Junior Motocross World Championship 125cc title. Filippo Mantovani sealed the third place in the championsip confirming a solid season.
