WORLDWIDE TV COVERAGE – TUNE IN TO THE MXGP OF SWITZERLAND PRESENTED BY IXS

FRAUENFELD (Switzerland) 18 April 2025 – The 2025 FIM Motocross World Championship lines up for its third consecutive weekend on the grassy fields of Frauenfeld as the sixth round, the MXGP of Switzerland presented by iXS, stands ready to entertain fans once again across the Easter weekend!

This weekend’s event runs with a decidedly different schedule, with Practice Sessions, EMX Races, and Qualifying Races all taking part on Saturday as usual, but the regular Grand Prix programme will run on Monday the 21st of April, so Motocross fans can see out the long weekend in style with an Easter treat better than any chocolate – even in a land that is famous for it!

Last season’s Swiss event was dominated by current Championship leader Tim Gajser, and the Slovenian is on form after his win at Trentino last weekend. Can anyone stop him? Romain Febvre is his closest challenger and would like to think so, but the fervent Swiss fans will be making their usual noise for their home hero Jeremy Seewer!

The MX2 class continues to be close in the points standings, but last year’s Frauenfeld victor Kay de Wolf holds the red plate and could see any of the eight winners from the ten races so far challenge him at the top!

Swiss broadcasters SRG and RTS will be onsite with live commentary for their fans to truly get involved with all the action!

Below you can find the full list of TV channels that will air LIVE and delayed action of the MXGP of Switzerland Presented by iXS, as well as the 26-minute Behind The Gate magazine show featuring the best moments from the races, exclusive interviews and more.  All of this footage will be available on MXGP-TV.com and via our TV magazine partners following the Grand Prix.

As always, MXGP fans can follow the races LIVE throughout the weekend. All you need to do is log onto www.MXGP-TV.com on Saturday and Monday, from wherever you are in the world.  Every round this season will also feature live screening of Saturday’s Time Practice sessions, for those who want to see every wheel turn through the Swiss hillsides!  Come and join us for the racing!

THE MXGP OF SWITZERLAND PRESENTED BY iXS READY TO GIVE THE SWEETEST EASTER TREAT THIS WEEKEND

FRAUENFELD  (Switzerland) - 17 April 2025 – The 2025 FIM Motocross World Championship has travelled gradually northward over the last two weekends, from Sardegna to Trentino, and now it concludes its first three-week run with a 450km trip around the Alps to the ancient city of Frauenfeld, and the Schollenholz circuit, for round six, the MXGP of Switzerland Presented by iXS!

One of ten venues to host a Motocross Grand Prix in Switzerland, the Frauenfeld area has used three different circuits in its history, which began in 1981 with a 125cc Grand Prix, won by the legendary Eric Geboers. From 2016 to 2018 a circuit nearer to the town was used, with Jeffrey Herlings taking MXGP class victories in each of the last two years there. Swiss heroes Arnaud Tonus and Jeremy Seewer won individual races in either class in 2017, although Benoit Paturel took his only Grand Prix victory in MX2 that year.

In the last three years the racing has returned to the grassy slopes at the highest point of the town and saw victories in 2023 for French Yamaha riders Maxime Renaux and Thibault Benistant, with last year’s mixed conditions bringing wins for Tim Gajser and Kay de Wolf.

Gajser returns to the site of his dominant double win last September with a healthy 39-point Championship lead for Honda HRC, while De Wolf also wears the red plate in MX2 for Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing! As always in Motocross, however, the races are far from foregone conclusions on this deceptively tricky circuit.

Seewer will be going all-out to get his fans cheering as he leads the Fox Holeshot standings on his new Aruba.it Ducati Factory MX Team machine, and is aiming to lift himself from tenth in the series, while Valentin Guillod, a private Yamaha rider this season, has scored the best Swiss race finish of the year with a fifth place in Argentina. Kevin Brumann is the top Husqvarna rider in the series for MX-Handel Husqvarna Racing, and Tonus will race his #4 Yamaha as a wildcard for one more crack at his home GP!

Both classes have a large entry list with several Swiss wildcards, and in MX2 Mike Gwerder would seem to have the best chance of home success for the HTS KTM Racing Team.  The MX2 Championship opened up a little at the Monster Energy MXGP of Trentino, but the top four riders are still separated by just 28 points, with everything to play for!

The EMX250 European Championship lost its two-stroke Wozniak MX Racing Team hero Adrien Petit to injury last week, leaving the way clear for VHR VRT Yamaha Official EMX250 rider Janis Reisulis to take the red plate. He has a 16-point lead from JM Racing Honda new boy, and reigning EMX125 Champion, Noel Zanocz.  So it’s Latvia versus Hungary at the top of EMX250, although the tall figure of Nico Greutmann will be looking for a good result on home ground for his Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna team.

Another Hungarian, Aron Katona, has kept the red plate in the EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing Championship for Racestore KTM Factory Rookies despite a difficult Trentino, with fast Italian Francesco Bellei second for Fantic Factory Racing EMX125. The Swiss fans will cheer 125cc rookie Ryan Oppliger to great heights if he can repeat his good starts from previous races!

The MXGP of Switzerland Presented by iXS should provide a weekend of close and tough racing for the sixth round of the series! Be sure not to miss it!

It’s been a case of Tim Gajser versus the French contingent in MXGP so far, as the Honda HRC man has taken three double-race win GP victories so far in 2025, with Maxime Renaux for Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP and Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP’s Romain Febvre taking the other wins so far.  It’s the man in green who is giving chase in the Championship, with two GP race wins and two Qualifying Race victories, it has only been the odd poor start and a broken wheel which has prevented Febvre from getting closer, but we all know the tough former Champ will never give up on a circuit where he took third overall in 2023!

Gajser was seriously impressive in last year’s Swiss round, while Jeffrey Herlings took second overall for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing.  Although the Dutchman is still recovering from his off-season knee injury, his fellow factory KTM man Lucas Coenen has shown some great speed, but he had one of the worst days of his season in MX2 at Frauenfeld last year and will be out to improve at this year’s event.

Third in the points table is Glenn Coldenhoff, on a great run with three podiums so far for Fantic Factory Racing.  Fifth behind Coenen is Renaux, the 2023 MXGP class winner here, whose title campaign took a few hits over the Italian rounds. For sure he will be looking to bounce back, while Ruben Fernandez will also be looking to capitalise on the hard-pack to continue his rise up the order for Honda HRC. He looked good here on return from injury at the end of 2024.

Hopes are high that Mattia Guadagnini could return from injury to join Seewer for the Aruba.it Ducati Factory MX Team, and Isak Gifting will make a late decision on his participation for JK Yamaha after his Trentino crash left him heavily bruised.

50 riders are entered for the MXGP class, so once more the circuit will be full of snarling 450s, in front of a typically boisterous Swiss crowd!

MXGP - World Championship Top 10 Classification: 1. Tim Gajser (SLO, HON), 274 Points; 2. Romain Febvre (FRA, KAW), 235 Points; 3. Glenn Coldenhoff (NED, FAN), 196 Pts; 4. Lucas Coenen (BEL, KTM), 176 Points; 5. Maxime Renaux (FRA, YAM), 164 Points; 6. Ruben Fernandez (ESP, HON), 148 Pts; 7. Kevin Horgmo (NOR, HON), 137 Pts; 8. Andrea Bonacorsi (ITA, FAN), 122 Points; 9. Calvin Vlaanderen (NED, YAM), 102 Pts; 10. Jeremy Seewer (SUI, DUC), 99 Pts.

As the Championship leader’s red plate finally stayed in one place after a GP weekend, namely on the front of Kay de Wolf’s Nestaan Husqvarna, MX2 continues to be unpredictable with the seventh, and then the eighth GP race winners of the season, just ten races old, coming at the Monster Energy MXGP of Trentino!

De Wolf extended his lead with consistent finishes and misfortune to others, and he now has a 12-point gap over Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Simon Laengenfelder.  The German won race two here last season to finish second overall to the Dutchman, who was also on the podium in 2023. With many fans likely to cross the border to get behind him, could this be the weekend when the German finally takes an overall victory again?

Andrea Adamo took his second GP win this season at Trentino, and is now just six points behind his fellow Red Bull KTM Factory Racing pilot, with podium form here from 2023.  Liam Everts suffered the most in Trentino with a DNF due to crash damage in race two, and is now fourth for Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing, 28 points behind his teammate in the lead. In mixed conditions last year, Everts had brilliant speed here to hound De Wolf for the second race win, having to settle for third overall on the day

Thibault Benistant finally added a GP race win to his season’s scorebook in Trentino, after also scoring two Qualifying Race wins for Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2. The 2023 MX2 winner could be a real threat at Frauenfeld, and needs the points to stop all the Austrian machines ahead of him from sprinting further away in the series.  Sacha Coenen sits sixth in the standings for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing after again crashing out of the lead last weekend, but Camden McLellan took the first ever GP race win for both himself and Monster Energy Triumph Racing, and after surviving a nasty second race crash, he is hungry for more of that winning feeling in Switzerland!

The red smoke flares will be blazing for all the Swiss heroes, and atmosphere will again be electric for the MXGP of Switzerland! Watch it all on MXGP-TV.com or come and join us live for an Easter Treat to beat any chocolate you can buy… even from Switzerland itself!

MX2 - World Championship Top 10 Classification: 1. Kay de Wolf (NED, HUS), 231 Points; 2. Simon Laengenfelder (GER, KTM), 219 Points; 3. Andrea Adamo (ITA, KTM), 213 Pts; 4. Liam Everts (BEL, HUS), 203 Pts;  5. Thibault Benistant (FRA, YAM), 171 Pts; 6. Sacha Coenen (BEL, KTM), 169 Pts; 7. Camden McLellan (RSA, TRI), 155 Pts; 8. Cas Valk (NED, KTM), 151 Pts; 9. EUROPEAN TITLE BATTLES HEAT UP IN TRENTINO AS GARCIA IN EMX250 AND FAURE IN EMX125 PRESENTED BY FMF RACING RISE TO THE TOP

PIETRAMURATA (Trentino) 13 April 2025 –  The iconic hard-pack hills of Pietramurata played host to the round of Trentino in the European Championship series, as both the EMX250 and EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing classes delivered edge-of-your-seat action across the weekend. With championship battles tightening and new stars emerging, the MXGP of Trentino weekend proved pivotal for riders chasing silverware in Europe’s most competitive developmental ranks.

In EMX250, it was Venum BUD Racing Kawasaki’s Francisco Garcia who shone the brightest combining a dominant Race 1 win with a measured and smart second race to take the overall victory. Meanwhile, in EMX125, consistency was king as Yamaha Europe EMX125 MJC’s Mano Faure claimed the top step of the podium by a single point, fending off a hungry field that included TM Moto CRD Motosport’s Niccolo Mannini and Fantic Factory Racing EMX125’s Francesco Bellei.

The EMX250 class in Pietramurata delivered two unforgettable races over the MXGP of Trentino weekend—races brimming with fierce battles, comeback charges, and the kind of heartbreak that defines a championship. When all was said and done, it was Francisco Garcia who stood tallest, claiming the overall victory thanks to a brilliant win in Race 1 and a smart, calculated ride to seventh in Race 2.

The opening race was chaos from the very first corner. A pile-up involving key contenders—Bike It Kawasaki’s Bobby Bruce and red plate holder Team VHR VRT Yamaha Official Team’s Janis Martins Reisulis—shuffled the order dramatically. Lyonel Reichl from Bauerschmidt Husqvarna briefly took command of the race, but a slide-out on the freshly watered surface handed the lead to Triumph-mounted Billy Askew.

As Askew tried to stretch his advantage, KTM Kosak Team’s Bradley Mesters and GHIDINELLI Racing Team’s Alexis Fueri stayed close behind, both showing early weekend form. But it was Garcia who emerged as the standout. Picking his lines with precision, he charged to the front by Lap 5 and never looked back, eventually crossing the finish line over six seconds clear of the field—clocking the fastest lap of the moto in the process.

Behind him, Fueri managed his race perfectly to secure third, while RFME Spain National Team’s Adria Monne and Nicolai Skovbjerg delivered solid rides to round out the top five. It was a day of mixed emotions elsewhere. Fantic Factory Racing EMX125’s Simone Mancini was unable to finish after mechanical issues cut his race short, while Reisulis, after his first-turn fall, mounted a sensational recovery to finish second—only for his fortunes to plummet again on Sunday.

The rain returned just in time for Race 2, turning the already technical Trentino track into a slippery challenge. Mancini, determined to bounce back, nailed the start and executed a flawless ride to take his first EMX250 race victory—an emphatic response after his Saturday disappointment. Behind him, Fueri once again showed consistency and aggression, pushing hard to take another second-place finish and cement his reputation as one of the fastest riders of the weekend.

A standout performance came from Gabriel SS24 KTM Factory Juniors’ Gyan Doensen, who battled his way into third and claimed a career-best result. The action was no less intense in the midfield, with Mesters, RFME Spain National Team’s Salvador Perez, and Skovbjerg all in the mix for top-ten finishes. Garcia, meanwhile, didn’t repeat his Race 1 heroics, but a smart ride to seventh, despite not leading at any point, was enough to lock down the overall victory.

The unpredictable nature of the weekend left its mark on the leaderboard. Reisulis, despite being one of the title favourites, saw his championship lead eroded after failing to finish the second race, leaving Pietramurata with a disappointing result after such a heroic opening race. KMP Honda Racing Team by DVAG’s Manuel Carreras, who failed to score in Race 1, bounced back with a strong 13th in the second heat, salvaging valuable points. Meanwhile, SixtySeven Racing-Team’s Maximilian Ernecker, after a strong ninth in the opener, couldn't back it up on Sunday and faded from contention.

And although Mancini claimed an impressive Race 2 win, his lack of points from the first race cost him dearly in the overall classification. Despite being one of the fastest riders all weekend, he could only manage sixth overall—an agonizing reminder of how quickly fortunes can swing in motocross.

Ultimately, it was Garcia’s consistency that proved decisive. While others dazzled in flashes or faltered under pressure, the Spaniard’s 1–7 finish earned him 39 points and the overall win. Fueri’s solid weekend left him just one point shy overall to go second, while Monne’s 6–6 scorecard handed him third overall and his first podium. As the championship now tightens heading into the next round, the EMX250 title fight is wide open—and more unpredictable than ever.

Francisco Garcia: “I’m really happy with this result—it’s my first EMX250 race win, my first podium, and now my first overall victory. I’ve been close before but to finally take the win means a lot. The second race was tough with the mud, and I made a few mistakes, but I gave everything I had. Huge thanks to my team, my sponsors, my family, and all my friends both here and back in Spain who support me. This one is for them.”

The EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing served up a double helping of eventful race, comebacks, and raw determination in Pietramurata for the MXGP of Trentino. In a weekend defined by tireless charges through the field, it was Mano Faure who emerged as the overall winner with a consistent 2-4 finish, totaling 40 points and snatching the round win by just a single point over Niccolo Mannini.

The opening race looked poised to be a tactical showdown until it devolved into chaos near the end. Dream Team’s Cole McCullough got his timing perfect in the late stages to secure a stunning maiden EMX125 victory. The Irish rider was running a strong third when  Francesco Bellei and MCV Motorsport-TM Moto’s Riccardo Pini collided while battling for the lead.

Early on, RACESTORE KTM FACTORY ROOKIES’s Nicolò Alvisi had taken the holeshot but crashed shortly after, dropping him down the pack. Meanwhile, Faure, after a terrible start, powered from 32nd to 17th on the opening lap alone, showing remarkable pace on the technical hard-pack circuit. Mannini initially controlled the front, building an 8-second lead by Lap 5, but Bellei steadily reeled him in with calculated aggression.

As Bellei made his move past Mannini for the lead, Pini also closed in. But it all unraveled with a few laps to go, when the two Italians collided in a dramatic moment that opened the door for McCullough. Faure, capitalizing on the chaos, slotted into second, while RACESTORE’s Áron Katona pulled off a spectacular recovery from outside the top 25 to third, earning the fastest lap of the race in the process.

With the skies drizzling, conditions became trickier for Sunday’s second and deciding race. Niccolo Mannini took full advantage, grabbing the holeshot and leading from the front. Ryan Oppliger slotted into second early, with Faure again wasting no time in attacking—eventually passing for second by Lap 2.

Bellei once again showed blistering speed, cutting through to third by Lap 6, with Pini and Filippo Mantovani rounding out the top five. Meanwhile, Katona, buried down in 18th after a rough start, clawed his way forward lap after lap, eventually finishing sixth and maintaining his red plate position overall.

Trouble struck for Race 1 winner McCullough, whose mechanical issue left him out of contention. The real heartbreak came for Faure. While battling Mannini at the front, he crashed on Lap 9 and lost his rhythm. Bellei capitalized, moving into second and began to close in on Mannini. Faure fell again on Lap 11, tumbling to fourth—but his earlier performance ensured he still had a mathematical chance at the round victory.

As the final laps ticked away, Bellei closed within 1.5 seconds of Mannini, but the TM Moto rider held his nerve to cross the line for his first-ever EMX125 race win. Despite not winning either race, Faure’s combined results earned him the top step of the podium with 40 points, just ahead of Mannini (39) and Bellei (38).

Mano Faure: “I’m really happy to take the overall win again—it wasn’t easy! Yesterday I crashed at the start but still managed second, and today’s race was really tough with some small mistakes, but I kept pushing. In the end, it paid off. Huge thanks to my team, my coach, and of course my mechanic—they’ve all been incredible. I’m proud to be back on the top step!”
