DUCATI DESMO250 MX TO MAKE ITS DEBUT IN THE 2026 FIM MX2 MOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

After presenting its new team for the 2026 MXGP World Championship at EICMA, Ducati Corse Off-Road is now pleased to announce its participation next year in the MX2 World Championship and the European EMX250 Championship with the Ducati Desmo250 MX, which was raced this year in the Italian championship by Team Beddini Racing with Alessandro Lupino.

The Italian team, founded in 2019 from the off-road passion of successful Umbrian entrepreneur Dario Beddini, will once again take to the track in both championships with the new Ducati. Team Beddini has a short but highly successful racing history, boasting no fewer than four Italian motocross titles. Run with passion by team manager and former rider Joakin Furbetta, the Beddini Racing - Ducati Factory MX2 Team will debut the Desmo250 MX machines in the two FIM Championships, entrusted to two young Italian talents, Ferruccio Zanchi (MX2) and Simone Mancini (EMX250).

Ferruccio Zanchi was born in Florence on 6 September 2006. After three seasons in EMX125 and one season (in 2023) in EMX250, Zanchi competed in the full MX2 World Championship in 2024, and this year he claimed his first podium finish with third place in the Grand Prix of Castilla-La Mancha.

The latest addition to the Ducati off-road family will also compete in the European EMX250 Championship

Simone Mancini was born in San Severino Marche (MC) on 8 August 2007. He was runner-up in the 125cc World Championship in 2024, took the bronze medal in the European EMX125 Championship that same season, and is a four-time Italian Motocross Champion. Mancini will line up in the European EMX250 Championship for the second year.

Paolo Ciabatti, General Manager of Ducati Corse Off-Road: “We are very satisfied with the excellent work done this year together with Team Beddini and Alessandro Lupino in the Italian MX2 Championship: our main goal was to develop the new Desmo250 MX in competition, but achieving second place overall fills us with satisfaction. Now we are about to tackle an even more ambitious challenge, and we are pleased to be able to count on the support and professionalism of the team led by Dario and Joakin, both in the MX2 World Championship and the European EMX250 Championship. We are confident that Ferruccio and Simone will be able to get the best out of the characteristics of our new bike, which will soon be available to all enthusiasts through the network of selected Ducati dealerships.”

Dario Beddini, Team Owner: “It is with great pride that we are preparing to represent Ducati in the FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship. The path we began last season allowed us to grow and gradually enter the Ducati world, learning to work with people of extraordinary expertise, who brought the Desmo250 MX project to life, and finishing the Italian Pro Prestige Motocross Championship in second place with Alessandro Lupino. Now the challenge becomes even more demanding and exciting: to debut the bike in the MX2 World Championship and the European EMX250, contributing to the growth of two young talents like Ferruccio and Simone, and beginning a path that we hope will take them to MXGP with Ducati. Taking part in the development of the Desmo250 MX, which will soon be available to all enthusiasts, is a great responsibility and I am grateful to Ducati Corse Off-Road and Paolo Ciabatti for this opportunity. I am sure that through everyone's work we will be able to achieve great goals: if we have come this far, it is above all thanks to my team and their tremendous commitment.”

YAMAHA EXTENDS PARTNERSHIP WITH VHR AND ANNOUNCES EMX250 MOVE FOR MANO FAURE & JARNE BERVOETS IN 2026

Yamaha Motor Europe is thrilled to announce the extension of its successful partnership with VHR, with VHR continuing to operate the Yamaha Official EMX250 team through the 2026 racing season.

Since the start of its collaboration in 2025, Yamaha and VHR have set the benchmark in the EMX250 class, with Janis Reisulis clinching the 2025 EMX250 title onboard a VHR backed GYTR kitted YZ250F. This milestone underscores a successful first year that has quickly established this partnership as a force to be reckoned with.

Looking to 2026, Yamaha and the VHR Yamaha Official EMX250 team are poised to reveal a new talented young line-up, with young Yamaha stars Mano Faure and Jarne Bervoets stepping up to the EMX250 ranks in 2026.

Both riders arrive with exceptional pedigree. Faure, the reigning Junior Motocross 125cc World Champion and EMX125 championship runner-up, will be joined by Bervoets, a two-time EMX125 round winner and 2023 Junior Motocross 85cc World Championship runner-up.

Together, they will challenge for glory on the championship-winning GYTR-kitted YZ250F. This renewed alliance with VHR, combined with the signing of two of the Yamaha family's most promising talents, positions the team for continued success at the pinnacle of European motocross.

We have a proven track record together, and the success with Janis Reisulis winning the EMX250 title this year shows the project already has strong foundations. Now, with two huge talents like Mano and Jarne stepping up to the GYTR kitted YZ250F and the VHR Yamaha Official EMX250 team, we are incredibly excited for the future. HONDA MADDII RACING: THE GREAT RETURN WITH HONDA IN THE MX2 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AND THE EMX250 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2026 season marks a historic moment for the Maddii Racing team, one of the most prestigious and long-standing organizations in international motocross. The team, led by Marco and Corrado Maddii, officially announces its return to the track with Honda, beginning a new and exciting collaboration directly supported by Honda Motor Europe. This choice reaffirms the team’s identity and its strong bond with the Winged-Logo manufacturer, with whom it wrote important pages in off-road racing history.

For the upcoming season, Honda Maddii Racing will field the evolved Honda CRF250R, motorcycles known for their high technological standards, reliability, and ability to adapt to the most demanding tracks in the Motocross World Championship. The team’s commitment will focus on two major fronts:

  • MX2 World Championship
  • EMX250 European Championship

The clear goal is to build a solid, competitive project capable of elevating young international talents, while maintaining the hallmark Maddii style: maximum attention to rider development, constant technical progression, and a professional approach that over the years has led to numerous European titles and high-level results on the world stage.

The 2026 program includes intensive testing, technical development, and physical preparation, along with a series of presentation events that will lead up to the official unveiling of the new Honda Maddii Racing liveries. The goal is to be fully ready for the season debut with a top-level technical and human package.

With the renewed collaboration with Honda, a refreshed team, and a solid sporting project, Honda Maddii Racing is preparing to be one of the key contenders in both the MX2 World Championship and the EMX250 European Championship.

Corrado Maddii:We are very happy to return to racing with Honda, with whom we achieved great results in the past. It’s a new beginning with young, talented riders who will certainly prove themselves worthy of this new adventure. I must thank Giacomo Gariboldi, Honda Motor Europe, and Fabiano from ABF Italia, who gave us the opportunity to build this structure. Thanks to our experience, we will do our best to provide our riders with the best material to compete at the top.”

Giacomo Gariboldi:This new collaboration with Team Maddii opens a new chapter for Honda, which also wants to focus on finding the best young talents who, if worthy, may one day join Team HRC. Over many seasons, the Maddii team has shown they can develop young talent better than anyone else, so we can’t wait to see these new ‘colts’ grow under Maddii’s care on our CRF250R bikes!”

Fabiano Berta:I am very happy to have brought together Giacomo Gariboldi, Honda Motor Europe, and Marco Maddii for this very important global partnership, as they will compete in both the World Championship and the European Championship. It is an honor for me, especially because I remain involved as a supporter and main sponsor of this structure, which is one of the most important nationally and internationally. I’m proud to see my brand reach such heights in this sport, which I’m passionate about and love deeply. I will also be happy to join them in the Italian Championship—actually, first in the Internazionali d’Italia, then in the Italian Championship, and why not, even some World Championship rounds where I will be present to support the team.
For me, this is also a continuation of a journey that began last year with a smaller sponsorship for Maddii. This year, the project becomes more solid thanks to this opportunity, which will surely help my company grow not only nationally but also internationally.”

  • 2023 EMX125 European Champion
  • 2023 125cc Dutch Champion
  • 2025 EMX250 European Champion

2025 EMX250 Season
It is said sometimes, maybe by those who yearn for the characters of yesteryear, that modern athletes don’t have personality.  It is tough enough for top sportspeople in the 21st century to work as hard and be as dedicated as they have to be in the ultra-professional sports world, that to then try and project a personality is often put down as a low priority. After all, the racing and results are what count.

In this respect, Janis Reisulis will hardly win many of those people over.  With a deadpan expression, rarely smiling or openly happy, the kid they call “The Killer” will never truly show the joy of the sport to fans.  However, this very persona is a characteristic all of its own, very true to his Baltic European roots, and helps add an edge to his on-track charisma that has always very much spoken for itself.

A winner in virtually every series he has been able to complete in the last five years, there is no doubt that the younger of the Reisulis brothers is a coming force in the Motocross world. His first EMX125 campaign in 2022 saw him finish the season in third, behind Cas Valk and his brother Karlis, but then he took the EMX125 title after a season-long battle with Mathis Valin in 2023. Despite a false start to his EMX250 career in 2024 due to a torn ACL, his comeback in 2025 has been nothing short of spectacular.

Janis had finished fourth in the opening EMX250 round at Madrid before his injury, and returning to Spain for just his second event in the class, it was like he had been there for years.  In the deep mud at Cozar he overcame a mid-race slip-over to re-take the lead from Mads Fredsoe, and win by 11 seconds by the flag.  The mud limited him to 12th in race two, but he was clearly on the map. From there, a double win at St Jean d’Angely already marked him out as the alpha male of the class, and he took the red plate after Trentino despite a DNF in race two!

A mechanical failure in Switzerland left him with a tiny points lead over two new challengers.  Reigning EMX125 Champ Noel Zanocz and rising Spanish star Francisco Garcia were each just two points behind Janis, but again he showed his class with complete domination through the mud of Portugal and Spain with a complete four moto sweep on the Iberian Peninsula!

Despite defeat to Zanocz at Ernée, an emotional perfect weekend at his home GP put him in a commanding position, and he maintained the lead from there, despite an incident in Finland where his Hungarian rival Zanocz put him off the track!  The tasty rivalry between the two will be one to watch in years to come as they both progress to MX2, and the ebullient Garcia will also get amongst them!

Janis returned to winning ways at Arnhem to really put the Championship beyond doubt, and he sealed the deal with second behind Garcia on the Saturday race in Türkiye!  There is no question of the Latvian’s talent, and in an age where racing brothers have often prospered together, he will join his sibling Karlis in MX2 for 2025 and beyond.  Janis will have been interested in seeing Mathis Valin scoring well in MX2, as he will put himself at that level. His “Killer” persona and self-confident aura that seems to accept victory as the inevitable result will add yet another shade of colour to an already dazzling, talent-stacked MX2 category.  Watching the progress of Janis Martins Reisulis into his new GP career should be absolutely fascinating.
