Estonia ready to host the Ride Green Cup

Every year in conjunction with the FIM Junior Motocross World Championship the Ride Green Cup is organized. The 2017 edition in Estonia is no exception. For those who don’t know the Ride Green Cup is an environmental competition between the teams coordinated by Youthstream, the FIM, the National Federation, and the local organizer.

The goal of the Ride Green Cup is to encourage riders, mechanics, and the team as a whole to be environmentally friendly. Alongside the lush and green Lange Motokeskus circuit, the teams are asked to show that they’re conscious of the environment. This is judged by the commitment to adhere to the some criteria: accepted FIM Rules (sound level, fuel quality, tires, etc), use an environmental mat to prevent soil pollution and leakage of petrol, oil or other hazardous substances to the ground, use only the Washing Area to wash the bikes, use separate containers for different kinds of waste (containers for oil, cloth                covered with waste, coolants, etc), keep the Living Area clean, etc..

Also as a start to the weekend, teams will each plant a tree symbolizing their dedication to the environment, and together plant a tree dedicated to Igor Cuharciuc, both activities will be part of the opening ceremony and medal presentation held Friday evening.

In addition to the judged criteria teams must also share their environmental actions on social media, to spread awareness, using the hashtag #ridegreen2017 and tag MXGP along with the FIM.

Ken De Dycker interview

Back in May, multiple GP winner, and former MXoN winner Ken De Dycker joined the 24MX Honda team for the remaining rounds of the FIM MXGP World Championship. The popular veteran made his return on the CRF450R at the MXGP of Russia, and has slowly be coming to terms with the speed of the current MXGP class.

While the Russian GP went well, he had little time on the bike in Ottobiano in Italy and De Dycker struggled for two top 20 places.

“Leading up to this race I had only limited time on the bike. I had to wait for the bike to return from Russia and after that I had a crash in practice so conditions were not ideal. Both on Saturday and in the first race I had a pretty good start around 14th place but I couldn’t get into the groove. After dropping back, I was able to regain some positions. In the second moto, I was around 16th place in the opening lap when I blew a berm. It took me a long time to get going again. I was able to remount quite well but near the end I was really spent! It’s been a difficult weekend, I also struggled a bit with the suspension setup here. However, I know we can fight for more with more time on the bike in between races.”

In the next round in Agueda, Portugal it was also a poor performance for the veteran Belgian, although he was confident his speed was returning.

“In terms of results it was a disappointing weekend but I feel that the speed is coming back. My qualifying race went great until I had that problem with my front break getting stuck. I had quite a hard crash in the first moto and needed to ice my ankle when my foot got stuck in a rut later on. The second moto was nowhere near what it could have been. I still felt sore from my crash and I just didn’t have the strength to push like I wanted. But all in all, it’s been an encouraging weekend and Last weekend in Loket De Dycker didn’t have the success he had hoped for. Bad starts didn’t help his progress.

Ken De Dycker: “Not exactly a great weekend but admittedly Loket has always been a very difficult track for me! Not only is the start super important here it’s also one of these places where you’re struggling to make up time as everyone seems to be running at a similar speed! Such was the case this time as well. My pace was good enough to catch the slower guys but with a bad start you’re never going to catch the faster riders if you’re not considerably quicker. It’s frustrating but honestly, I never had a great feeling. That’s how it is, I’m really looking forward to the two races at home now. First the Championship of Flanders and then the GP in Lommel! This is definitely motivating for GP’s like Lommel and Assen where I believe I could do well.”

Now De Dycker will head to Lommel, and his home Grand Prix. Known for his sand skills he will hopefully be able to once again battle up front.

Third win in a row for Antonio Cairoli

Fiat Professional celebrates Tony Cairoli, genuine Italian sports icon and eight times World Champion, who won on the exciting Loket circuit in the Czech Republic, for the thirteenth appointment of the 2017 MXGP FIM Motocross World Championship. The Sicilian rider is now firmly leading the scoreboard with 523 points and is consolidating his world championship standing making the challenge for the ultimate title even more thrilling. The next appointment will be on August 6 in Lommel, Belgium, for “Fiat Professional MXGP of Belgium”.

Enthusiasm, determination and constant dedication allow the Sicilian champion to prevail over the competition and are the values he shares with Fiat Professional: not by chance, the brand picked him as ambassador and is by his side during this challenge which is tough and selective but also very rewarding. Furthermore, for the second year running, Fiat Professional is also Official Sponsor of the exciting MXGP FIM Motocross World Championship.

Today, the brand is an authentic "full liner" with a line-up capable of providing the right answers to all transport mission needs: a full array of body types, loading capacities and volumes and a complete choice of wheelbases, widths and height variants, in addition to high-efficiency engines and various fuels options (petrol, diesel, LPG and methane). What is more, the brand places assertive focus on "specialities", such as passenger transport and the world of converted vehicles. It is the natural evolution of over one hundred years of history and a one-of-a-kind baggage of experience in the world of commercial vehicles.

The public at the Loket circuit had the opportunity to admire a taster of the range at the Fiat Professional stand: a Talento was on display next to the unstoppable Fullback pick-up truck, the “product hero” of the official fleet of the MXGP FIM Motocross World Championship. With its generous load capacities, the Talento van is the ideal work mate for professionals in city streets and on major roads alike. It is characterised by its outstanding versatility and ability to adapt to different customer needs.
