RAM and MXGP Join Forces in the FIM Motocross World Championship

LOKET (Czech Republic) 16 July 2022 – Infront Moto Racing is delighted to share that American brand RAM and MXGP are set to cooperate together from the MXGP of Czech Republic, which is taking place this weekend in Loket, until the end of the 2022 season.

In addition, RAM will receive four advertising boards around the track and an activation area in the paddock/public area at the events in Europe, which will give audiences in Europe the chance to learn more about RAM’s product range and become more familiar with the brand.

RAM: number one in high-quality new vehicles

RAM Truck was launched in 2009 in the US as a stand-alone division, focused on meeting the demands of truck buyers and delivering benchmark-quality vehicles. With a full lineup — RAM 1500, 2500/3500 Heavy Duty, 3500/4500/5500 Chassis Cab — RAM designs trucks which aid customers in heavy-duty work and take them wherever they need to go. The RAM 1500 lineup also includes the Know & Go mobile app featuring an immersive experience for customers who want to learn more about their vehicles.

RAM continues to outperform the competition and sets the benchmarks for several important features, such as towing capacity, payload, interior space and much more.

The latest J.D. Power APEAL study - which rates the emotional bond between customers and their vehicles – named the 2021 RAM 1500 as the best vehicle in the large light-duty pickup category. This marks the second straight year RAM 1500 has received top honors.

Infront Moto Racing is delighted to cooperate with RAM once again, and look forward to successful remaining rounds of the 2022 season!

Seewer and Benistant Dominate Qualifying in Loket

LOKET (Czech Republic) 16 July 2022 – Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jeremy Seewer and Thibault Benistant dominated the MXGP and MX2 qualifying heats at the MXGP Czech Republic and will start tomorrow’s races from pole position.

The qualifying sessions, along with action from the EMX65, EMX85, EMX2T and MXE concluded the first day of racing in Loket as excitement begins to build for the main racing tomorrow, along with the title crowning of the European classes.

In the MXGP qualifying race, it was Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jeremy Seewer who grabbed the holeshot, ahead of Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado, Mattia Guadagnini, Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Glenn Coldenhoff and Team HRC’s Tim Gajser.

In the first few laps, Gajser was able to find his way past Coldenhoff and then Guadagnini, as he began to set his sights on the leaders. Prado was pushing Seewer, who made a couple of mistakes as he tried different lines.

Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP’s Romain Febvre had a tough qualifying race, as he started in 14th and only managed one position by the chequered flag.

Gajser then closed right in on Prado, though it took the Slovenian around three or four laps to squeeze by the Spaniard and move into second.

Standing Construct Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Pauls Jonass was looking fast, as he set the fastest lap of the race from seventh position as he chased down Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Maxime Renaux who made his return to racing.

Renaux passed Guadagnini for fifth on lap eight, with the Italian losing another spot to Jonass by the following lap, which allowed the Latvian to stick with Renaux. Jonass was able to pass Renaux for fifth on the final lap.

In the final few laps, we watched Gajser apply the pressure onto Seewer who had a few sketchy moments. Though managed to keep it on two wheels to bring it home and secure his first qualifying race win of the season. Gajser was forced to settle for second ahead of Coldenhoff, Jonass and Renaux.

Jeremy Seewer: “It's my first pole position of this year. So, I'm happy about that. I didn't came here thinking I'm able to do that because the week was horrible, but yeah, it's good to start on pole. I mean, tomorrow's a new day, it's just the qualifying race so I used this to try different lines and some things. Like you said, I had a few little moments trying different things because Tim was behind me, but I’m happy to get away with the win”.

“Yeah, that would be cool. I know I'm in shape and ready to do all of that. It just takes a good start in both races and stuff. I'm confident and you know, I won't put too much pressure because on this track, you need to stay relaxed to be fast. It's slippery, sketchy, so I'm definitely going to plan on winning a bit more in the future”.

MXGP - Qualifying Race – Top 10 Classification: 1. Jeremy Seewer (SUI, Yamaha), 24:14.592; 2. Tim Gajser (SLO, Honda), +0:03.096; 3. Jorge Prado (ESP, GASGAS), +0:05.363; 4. In the MX2 qualifying race, it was SM Action Racing Team YUASA Battery’s Andrea Adamo who got a flying start but was soon passed by Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Tom Vialle and Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Thibault Benistant.

Vialle then crashed on the opening lap, as did Geerts with the duo picking themselves quickly to stay within the top 10.

Gianluca Facchetti of KTM Beddini MX2 started well and was among the leaders before he dropped back to ninth and later finished the race in 20th. It was the Italian’s first race since Argentina.

Geerts then passed Kay de Wolf of Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing for fifth as he made his way back up the order. The Belgian then set his sights on Vialle who was ahead of him and looking to make a move on Adamo.

While Vialle was focused on Adamo for second, Geert was able to make the most of this opportunity and caught the Frenchman off-guard as he stole third. At this point Benistant was more than nine seconds ahead of the field and looking comfortable for the win.

In the end, Benistant secured his second qualifying race win of the season. He won ahead of Adamo, Geerts, Vialle and Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing’s Simon Längenfelder.

Thibault Benistant: “It’s my second win of this season. I feel good on the bike and I’m enjoying the riding and when I have this feeling I can be quite fast. For sure, tomorrow I’m looking forward to take a good start for some good races”.

Conrad Mewse to be TKO's replacement in MXGP with DIGA Procross KTM Racing

After a serious crash in the qualifying race for the MXGP of Latvia in Kegums in April, DIGA Procross KTM Racing athlete Thomas Kjer Olsen is on the road to recovery.

Due to the severity of the injury and the lengthy rehabilitation, TKO will unfortunately not be able to take part in any more races this year. For this reason, team manager Justin Amian decided, after much deliberation, to give British rider Conrad Mewse the opportunity to compete in the MXGP category on the DIGA Procross KTM Racing Team's KTM SX-F450.

Conrad Mewse, who has already shown his skills several times in the MX2 World Championship and until recently competed with his own team in the MX2 World Championship, will compete for the German DIGA Procross KTM Team in the MXGP class from the MXGP of the Czech Republic until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old Briton has done a number of tests on KTM SX-F 450s over the last few weeks to prepare himself as well as possible for the upcoming tasks.

Justin Amian: „We have been considering for a long time whether to sign a replacement for Thomas Kjer Olsen for the rest of the season. With Conrad Mewse, we were able to win over a young and talented athlete and are looking forward to working together.“

Conrad Mewse: "I’m excited to take on a new challenge with the DIGA Procross KTM racing team this weekend in Loket. I have kindly been given a great opportunity to ride a very strong bike for such a professional team for the remaining GPs of 2022. I can’t thank Anthony at Stebbings for allowing me to take this opportunity aswell as all my other personal sponsors for their loyalty and support. Many thanks to Justin Amian and all parties involved for believing in me.“

MXGP of Czech Republic Set for Action-Packed Weekend in Loket

MONACO (Principality of Monaco) 13 July 2022 – The FIM Motocross World Championship returns to Loket this weekend for the 25th edition of the MXGP of Czech Republic at the old-school track!

Located 150km west of Prague, Loket has been a part of the FIM Motocross World Championship calendar since 1995, with winners of the Czech Grand Prix including the likes of Joel Smets, Stefan Everts, Ben Townley, Jeremy Van Horebeek, Jeffrey Herlings, Romain Febvre and Jorge Prado, among others.

Last season, Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado was victorious with a 1-3 results, ahead of Antonio Cairoli and Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jeremy Seewer, all while Team HRC’s Tim Gajser struggled after crashing big in the second race.

Meanwhile in MX2, Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing’s Mattia Guadagnini was the overall winner ahead of Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Maxime Renaux and Thibault Benistant as the trio battled intensely while Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Tom Vialle retired from the second race.

This time around, the MXGP of Czech Republic has a mega weekend in store for the fans, with two action-packed days including finals of the EMX65 and EMX85 Championship, along with the final two rounds of the Junior e-Motocross series and the unique one-round EMX2t Championship which will see a new winner this season, as last year’s Champion, Maximilian Spies will not be defending the title and will instead line up in the MX2 category.

In MXGP, there is no doubt that Championship leader, Tim Gajser of Team HRC is the favourite heading into this weekend’s race, having won the last two Grand Prix’s on the bounce, after struggling with illness. Gajser has been looking comfortable lately and having a 125-point lead probably has something to do with that.

Thought looking at his performance in Loket last season, there is no doubt that the Slovenian will be motivated to make-up for last year’s mishap and score some more solid points.

Last year’s Czech Republic Grand Prix winner, Jorge Prado of Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing will be one to watch. Prado has already won a GP this season but has had some tough moments ever since and has been looking to get back on the top of the box. Now with a couple of weeks to re-charge and continue his work on his fitness, big things could be expected of the Spaniard.

Prado also has some nice memories in Loket, having claimed his first red plate in 2018 (in MX2) and then winning the GP in 2019 and 2021, so a victory this weekend could be a nice addition.

Another serious podium threat comes from Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jeremy Seewer who already has four podiums under his belt. While it was a slow start to the season for the Swiss, he sure has picked up the pace in the last several races. While Indonesia was a tough one for the Yamaha rider, he is no doubt going to be back to his usual self this weekend and could add another podium to his growing tally. Points will also be important for Seewer, if he doesn’t want to completely lose his grip on Gajser for the title.

There is also Romain Febvre of Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP who has come close to a podium visit ever since getting back to racing at the German Grand Prix. It has only been two races that we have seen Febvre back for, but the Frenchman is looking strong and this weekend could be his moment to shine.

Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing’s Mattia Guadagnini also has some nice memories when it comes to racing in Loket, as he scored his second GP victory there last year in MX2. Guadagnini made the move up to the premiere class from the MXGP of Sardinia and has delivered some nice top 10 results ever since.

Some new faces are making the move up to MXGP, which includes iXS hostettler MXGP Team's Kevin Brumann, Honda 114 Motorsports' Haakon Fredriksen and Conrad Mewse. The trio previosuly showed promise in MX2 so it will be interesting to see what they can do in the premiere class.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Tom Vialle will be looking to have another top weekend, following his 1-1 result in Indonesia. The Frenchman is now in control of the red plate once again, though by only four points as the title fight between him and Jago Geerts of Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing continues.

Both Vialle and Geerts have only been off the podium twice this year, which only highlights their incredible track record meaning a podium this weekend is very likely, though it will only be a matter of who is standing on the top step. Both riders had bad luck in Loket last year as they failed to mount the podium, but that should not affect their performance this time around.

For Geerts it will be important to get ahead of Vialle this weekend if he wants to claw back the points and take back the red plate. But he cannot focus too much on this as that’s when mistakes could start to creep in, and the same applies for Vialle.

Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Thibault Benistant also has a pretty strong podium track record this season, having finished on the box four times which also includes his maiden overall win in Germany. The Frenchman has shown that he can be one of the riders to get in the mix of Vialle and Geerts who have been keeping things tight this year. Benistant was also on the box in Loket last year and won the second race, so that should also give him a nice confidence boost.

Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing’s Simon Längenfelder is another rider to look out for as he made his third podium appearance a couple of weeks ago in Samota-Sumbawa. Längenfelder clearly has what it takes to battle at the front, and it would be nice to see him do just that this weekend.

Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Kay de Wolf will also be another possible podium threat and it will be interesting to see how much progress he has made since Indonesia which was his second GP back from injury.

Jorge Prado and Loket

Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing rider Jorge Prado is the defending winner of the Czech Republic GP, with a victory last year after scoring a 1-3 result. The Spaniard has often done well at the Loket circuit and will no doubt go into next week’s Grand Prix with high expectations.

With 35 GP wins to his name, 31 in MX2 and four in MXGP, you just know that the two-time World MX2 champion will want to try and gain some ground on series leader Tim Gajser, of Team HRC. Second in the championship standings, Prado is 125 points away from Gajser and it will take a huge effort to catch the four-time Motocross World Champion, but if anyone can, it’s Prado.

A clear liking for the hard pack circuits, Prado has won many of his GPs in places like Spain, Italy, France and Bulgaria, on some of the toughest hard pack circuits in the world. In fact, his first ever Grand Prix victory came at the Trentino circuit, that tight, twisting hard pack facility that catches so many riders out.

It wasn’t just last year’s win at Loket though that stands out in the Czech Republic, but also back in 2019 Prado won there, taking out the MX2 overall and he also won at Loket in 2018, again on the 250. His worst result on the hard pack in the Czech Republic was a fifth place in MX2 in 2017.

Leading into Loket Prado has been somewhat up and down in his results, with 7-3 scores at the German GP and an impressive 2-2 at Sumbawa in Indonesia just a couple of weeks ago. Third place overall in Germany and second overall in Indonesia, but still losing major points to Gajser in both rounds as the red plate owner scored 1-2-1-1 results.

“Germany was an okay weekend,” Prado said. “I did not expect to be on the box after the first race! I was struggling a little bit, but we made some steps in a good direction and that helped me in that second race. We need to keep working though, especially on tracks like this. I was looking forward to the next event in Indonesia and it was a good weekend. I felt a little bit better than I did in qualifying on Saturday – it was a tough track. I got a good start in the second race, but Tim had better pace and passed me. We are going up and now have some time before the next race. I will try to get some rest, do some good training and step it up.”

Now with another win at his beloved hard pack of Loket as a goal, you just know Prado will try and build his confidence and momentum at the old school circuit and give himself some chance of catching Gajser in the series standings.

With seven rounds remaining and a maximum of 350 points possible, Gajser hasn’t won the 2022 MXGP championship just yet, but if victory doesn’t come for Prado in a little over a weeks’ time, then the fight for the biggest prize in motocross might just be about over. Pressure is something Prado knows, and maybe it can become his friends at the famous Loket circuit on July 17.

New Venue Announced for the MXGP of Finland!

MONACO (Principality of Monaco) 4 July 2022 – Infront Moto Racing together with Lahti Events Ltd., the organizer of the upcoming MXGP of Finland, the FIM and FIM Europe, announce that an alternative venue has been selected to host the Finnish Grand Prix on the 13th & 14th of August!

The event, that was originally set to take place in Iitti-KymiRing, will instead head back to an old favourite venue, Vauhtipuisto in Hyvinkää!

Hyvinkää is a city located around 50 kilometres from the capital Helsinki and has been part of the FIM Motocross World Championship since making its first appearance back in 1965. Some winners at the original venue include the likes of Sylvain Geboers, Harry Everts, Kees Van Der Ven, Dave Strijbos, Antonio Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings, just to name a few.

The venue itself features the main track, a track for 85cc bikes and a children’s track, as well as an enduro route and a speedway circuit, making it any motorcycling enthusiasts dream land!

Most recently, MXGP visited Hyvinkää in 2014, with Cairoli and Herlings victorious in MXGP and MX2, but since then, in the fall of 2017 the venue has undergone some renovations to bring some variety and interest back to the track.

Infront Moto Racing is delighted to return to Finland and look forward to a successful Grand Prix weekend!
