MXGP OF CZECH REPUBLIC SECURES FUTURE IN LOKET UNTIL 2030

MONACO (Principality of Monaco) 21 February 2025 – Infront Moto Racing is thrilled to announce the extension of the MXGP of Czech Republic’s tenure at the iconic Loket circuit through 2030. This landmark agreement underscores the robust partnership between IMR, the Autoclub of the Czech Republic (ACCR), and the Auto Moto Club Loket.

The Loket circuit, renowned for its challenging terrain and elevation along with a really passionate fanbase, has been a staple in the FIM Motocross World Championship calendar for decades. Since its inaugural race in 1995, Loket has witnessed numerous historic moments. The track’s unique layout and picturesque setting continue to captivate riders and spectators alike. All this will continue for many years, with the next MXGP of Czech Republic in Loket on 26-27 July 2025.

This agreement not only secures the future of the MXGP in Loket but also paves the way for potential events at other Czech venues, reflecting the growing popularity of motocross in the region.

David Luongo, CEO of Infront Moto Racing:

“The extension of our partnership with Loket until 2030 is a testament to the circuit’s significance in the MXGP series. Loket offers a unique blend of challenging racing conditions and a vibrant atmosphere, making it a favourite among riders and fans. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with ACCR and the dedicated team at Auto Moto Club Loket to elevate the MXGP of Czech Republic to new heights.”

Mr. Jan Šťovíček, President of the Autoclub of the Czech Republic:

“I welcome the contract extension with Infront Moto Racing for the period 2026-2030. A five-year contract is not usual; it testifies to the high confidence of the promoter and the quality of the organizing team of the Auto Moto Club Loket under the leadership of Zdeněk Dvořák. The fact that the contract is concluded directly by the Autoclub of the Czech Republic opens the possibility for other Czech organizers on other tracks. We have ambitions to increase the attractiveness of the Czech Grand Prix MXGP, and the agreement provides excellent conditions for this.”

GAJSER AND SIX TITLES

With five World titles to his name and 49 Grand Prix victories, Tim Gajser is just one championship, and two GP wins away from becoming the third most successful rider in the sports history. Of course, the two Kings of the Grand Prix are Stefan Everts with ten World titles and 101 GP wins and Antonio Cairoli, with nine World titles and 94 GP wins. In third place, is the legendary, Joel Robert, with six World titles and 50 Grand Prix victories, but as we mentioned above, the Slovenian is hunting down the Belgian great and could very easily pass Robert’s statistics in 2025.

“I mean,” Gajser said when I mentioned it to him. “I didn’t know that and its nice to know that. I mean, of course, it is nice to be with these legends, in such a high company. Definitely we are working hard and as you said, I am not into the statistics, but we are working hard, and we want to arrive in Argentina ready. Every GP I will try and win and give my best, but with the experience I have, we look at the big picture and the goal is always to fight for the championship. It is an honour to be in this type of company.”

Of course, the 2025 MXGP championship won’t be handed to the HRC factory rider, and he knows that, but with Jeffrey Herlings missing the early part of the season with his ACL injury, which goes a long way in the favour of Gajser. What Gajser does remember is winning sure beats losing and his 2025 loss to Jorge Prado doesn’t sit well with him.

“You always want to win, you know. It is never easier to lose, especially when you lose by just a couple of points. It was nine or 10 points between Jorge and me. It was a difficult one and I felt I was riding really good this year, a bit more control, I was not riding over my limits. I was always in the comfort zone, let’s say, not always pushing, so I always settles for second or third, if I saw I had to push too much and I never risked too much to go for the win. I felt I rode more mature, more with experience, but in the end, it was not enough. Sometimes, you have to risk maybe a little bit more and go over your limit. I learnt again something, this year.”

So far in 2025, the feeling in the Gajser camp is one of happiness and an eye on winning. The always friendly Gajser has a good group of people around him and has been with HRC since 2015. It is always important to have a secure situation in your life and in your career and for Gajser, that is more important than for many others.

“You know, I always say, happy rider is fast rider, and you have to be happy to go fast and I feel, I am in a really good place with the team, the people around me. The people I built around me, my girlfriend, my truck driver, my cooker, my trainers, my practice mechanic. Those that I have in Slovenian, its different to my team, the HRC team, so I have like two teams around me. I have like five or six people who are just with me in Sardinia now, and that doesn’t even count the HRC guys. We have a house here and we do everything together, not just the work, we also have nice evenings, eating and its super nice and for me, that is important. It helps me relax also.”

So, as we get closer and closer to the opening round of the 2025 MXGP championship, Gajser is working hard in making his pre-season as good as possible and when he touches down in Argentina, he knows that his chances of beginning the year will be a positive and happy one.

JEFFREY HERLINGS EYEING RAPID 2025 MXGP RETURN

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing icon Jeffrey Herlings is working towards a competitive return to motocross action and through the final stages of rehabilitation after surgery to repair a torn right ACL.

The five-times world champion and most successful Grand Prix winner in FIM Motocross World Championship history is coming closer to his goal of being able to ride, test and get back into MXGP shape for 2025. 30-year-old Herlings underwent an operation to fix the right knee injury, which he sustained in the sand of Valkenswaard in October 2024 and after a strong campaign in which he completed the 20-round season with 3rd in the standings and with 4 GP wins and 15 podium finishes.

Since the medical procedure the Dutchman (Red Bull KTM’s longest serving racer after joining the factory MXGP team in 2010) has been following the rehab steps and is now just a few weeks away from being able to ride his 2025 KTM 450 SX-F.

Herlings will not be able to join the rest of his team for the season-opening Grand Prix of Argentina on 2-3 March but will then assess his pace and progress until he is ready to enter the MXGP start gate once more for his eighth attempt at the class and his sixteenth year as a world championship athlete.

Jeffrey Herlings: “We’re looking good. I can do everything aside from ride the bike. I can cycle, swim, cross train – and it should only be a few weeks until we are back to the normal plan. 2024 wasn’t a great season but it was decent; we’d made a lot of races, came close to the MXGP championship, won a few GPs and had something like 15 podiums at the end. I wanted to be strong coming into this year so having this setback was not good but what I can hope for now is a successful second part of the championship. It was a weird injury because there was not much pain after surgery but it takes time to recover. I want to ride as soon as possible and join the rest of my Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team… but we just need to wait a little longer. I really want to race again.”
