THE MONSTER ENERGY FIM MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS NUCOR INDIANA GRAND PARADE TAKES OVER TOWN IN #MOTOVILLE!

Crawfordsville, Indiana (USA) 3 October 2025 – The second part of the Friday at the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana was full of excitement.

Firstly in the Teams’ Press Conference, it was Australia up first as defending Champions, and the ever-upbeat Jett Lawrence was looking forward to the contest, while Hunter Lawrence down-played the notion of any home advantage due to the bike-time that everybody will get tomorrow.

Team France took to the stage next, and Team Manager Gautier Paulin took the chance to pay homage to new World Champion Romain Febvre in a gracious gesture that brought a round of applause from those present. Febvre himself told of his surprise that the circuit looked “bigger and wider than on TV”, and that it shouldn’t take much getting used to for the MXGP regulars.

Team Italy Team Manager Thomas Traversini and his younger riders are happy that 40-year-old legend Antonio Cairoli is able to lend his experience to the squad, while Team Netherlands rider Kay de Wolf raised some humour as he told of how he asked Haiden Deegan, absent from injury, if he was just “afraid of getting taken out!”. Team Germany looked happy with new MX2 World Champion Simon Längenfelder, and their previous title winner Ken Roczen, although Kenny did state that he would have liked more bike time prior to the event.

Team Slovenia’s Tim Gajser would not be drawn on his chances of repeating his win at last year’s Nations, and Team Latvia were enjoying having all of their top riders healthy for once.

Then the home nation, Team USA, took to the stage.  Team Manager Mike Pelletier acknowledged the challenge of having to replace two-thirds of his team with a week to go, but Eli Tomac repeatedly stated “We’re ready”, and looked eager to begin the job at hand!

Team Spain also looked ready to go with their “new Capitan” Ruben Fernandez, and finally Team Belgium manager Joel Roelants exclaimed his delight that he has finally been able to select their strongest line-up without injuries getting in the way.  Lucas Coenen seems fired up to prove himself against the biggest names in the sport.

Then the day concluded the best way possible. If you never thought that the sport of Motocross could take over a whole town, then you would never have believed the sights and sounds of the Monster Energy FIM MXoN Nucor Steel Indiana Parade that brought the streets of Crawfordsville, renamed Motoville for the weekend, to an absolute standstill in celebration of the 78th Edition of the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations rolling into the area!

We’re not just talking of a little sideshow here.  The main route through the centre of the city, home to over 16,000 people in the state of Indiana, was closed down to allow the 37 teams to slowly parade through the city centre and greet the hordes of fans that flooded the streets of Crawfordsville!  This was far more than just a parade of teams, however, but more of a raw celebration of the passion for Motocross and off-road motorcycle racing that has become part of the lifeblood of the area.

A stunt motorcycle show warmed the crowds up, as the public address system relayed the announcements of MXGP-TV Commentators Paul Malin and Jason Thomas, as well as the interviews conducted by MXGP-TV Presenter Lisa Leyland, around the main streets.  The first vehicle was a classic pink and white convertible, ferrying the Grand Marshall of the event, Jeff Ward, towards the interview stage.

The first country to come through was Team Honduras, enjoying their moment in the spotlight, but the crowd were only just getting warmed-up.  American legends Ricky Carmichael and Jeff Stanton soon followed to show their appreciation for the incredible atmosphere and the history of the event. Team FIM Asia, Costa Rica, and Mexico showed their excitement and got their vehicles bouncing with their enthusiasm.

Interspersed with the teams were groups like the Southmond Marching Band, the Crawfordsville High School cheerleaders, and even vehicles with dignitaries like FIM President Jorge Viegas.  The Yamaha BLUCRU riders were also part of the procession, with some of them on their race bikes, revving them up amongst the crowd who doubtlessly enjoyed a healthy dose of two-stroke exhaust fumes!

Thousands of fans lined the streets, generating so much noise that the townsfolk also leaned out of their apartment windows to enjoy the spectacle.  The horns, chainsaws, and even sirens only got louder as the big teams started to come through.  Team Japan talisman Jo Shimoda drew some massive cheers as he revved up a chainsaw for the fans, and this became something of a pattern!

Legends like Jeff Emig and Ryan Villopoto also got interviewed in the build-up, before current riders like Martin Barr, Isak Gifting, Lucas Coenen, Camden McLellan, Antonio Cairoli, and Ken Roczen also spoke to Lisa and raised the bar with the crowd, in a wonderful two-way drip-feed of adrenaline and excitement for the coming weekend’s racing!

The final three nations of Team Netherlands, Team Australia, and finally Team USA brought massive applause and celebration with them, especially with the host nation’s leading rider Eli Tomac grabbing phones to take selfies, chainsaws and horns to make noise, and generally firing up the crowd at every opportunity possible!  After Glenn Coldenhoff and Jett Lawrence had their interviews, the entire American team of Tomac, Justin Cooper, and RJ Hampshire spoke to Lisa and worked the atmosphere up even more, although they all found it impossible to hear each other among the noise of the fans!

With the home nation moving through, the town cleared itself with impressive speed, and the town returned to normality very soon.  For any Motocross fan present, however, they will never quite forget the day when the sport took over a whole city, and the area rejoiced in the passion for the sport.  That was indeed one very special day!

Today’s events, including the press conferences and the Teams’ Press Conference and Team Presentation , are available to watch on MXGP’s YouTube channel.

PRESS CONFERENCES AND BALLOT LAUNCHED MONSTER ENERGY FIM MXON WEEKEND IN IRONMAN RACEWAY

CRAWFORDSVILLE (Indiana, United States) 3rd October 2025 – The Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations officially got underway at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana with the traditional Opening Press Conference and the ballot draw that decided the starting grid for Saturday’s qualifying heats.

Friday began with the welcome press conference featuring Infront Moto Racing CEO David Luongo, FIM/CMS Director Antonio Alia Portela, and MX Sports’ Director Tim Cotter, the local organizer of the event. Each spoke about the anticipation for this year’s Motocross of Nations, the return of the event to American soil, and the extraordinary collaboration that has made this edition possible.

David Luongo, CEO, Infront Moto Racing: "The Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations truly represents the pinnacle of our sport. To bring it back here to the United States is the result of a long journey and a strong collaboration with MX Sports, the AMA, and of course the FIM, with whom we work hand in hand throughout the season. We want to thank also the city of Crawfordsville for their tremendous support and warm welcome This is a very special weekend where, after a long season, the very best riders from around the world come together to represent their nations in front of thousands of passionate fans. Everything is set for a fantastic weekend of racing, and while some teams may arrive as favourites, the Motocross of Nations is always unpredictable and unique. I wish everyone an amazing weekend and safe, thrilling racing.”

Antonio Alia Portela, FIM/CMS Director: “When you walk through the paddock and see the scale of the facilities and the huge camping area, you understand the true dimension of this event. None of this would be possible without the federations bringing their best riders, the work of Infront Moto Racing and the tremendous effort of the local organizers here in Crawfordsville. All of this created such world-class facilities, show the strength and commitment that exists within motocross. On behalf of the FIM, I want to thank everyone involved for making this possible, and I wish all the teams the very best in the battle for this prestigious trophy."

Tim Cotter, Director, MX Sports: "On behalf of MX Sports and Ironman Raceway, welcome to Crawfordsville, or as we call it this weekend, Motoville, Indiana. Hosting the Motocross of Nations is truly a bucket-list moment for our company, and over the past 14 months, we have worked tirelessly with our partners at Infront Moto Racing and the FIM, and our team of over 350 people is ready to deliver one of the best editions ever. This community has embraced the event, from the parade downtown to the Motocross of Nations Moto Bowl tonight, and it’s an honour to showcase this celebration of motocross here in America. Thanks to the strong collaboration with Infront and the FIM, we believe the sport has never been stronger.”

Following the press conference, the teams and some riders started to gather nervously for the traditional ballot that decides the gate pick for Saturday’s Qualifying Races. It’s a part of the weekend that’s beyond anybody’s control and naturally throws up some random situations!

Team Latvia were first out of the hat, but assigned the 24th gate pick.  The first top ten slot was quickly drawn for Team Denmark in P6, and then the first disappointment for a top team – Team Spain getting second from last in P36!

The first top team with a good pick were team Netherlands in P8, and although Team FIM Asia got second pick early on, the top spots remained open for some time!  Team Brazil got the unfortunate final pick #37, before Team France and Team Italy got P14 & P20 respectively.  Then came the biggest response of them all – the home squad, Team USA, given the lowly P35 in the draw, leaving them needing to be sharp starters or good passers in tomorrow’s races!

With Team Belgium in P22, it was then Team Australia who celebrated a good P7.  Team Morocco gratefully accepted the first gate pick, and Team Estonia P3, but amongst the favourites it will be the Australians and the Dutch who will be most happy with their lot, while the Spanish and the Americans will be looking for some passing lines come Free Practice in the morning!

PROVISIONAL 2026 FIM MOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP CALENDAR ANNOUNCED

CRAWFORDSVILLE (Indiana, USA) 2 October 2025 – Infront Moto Racing is thrilled to present the provisional 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship Calendar, featuring 20 rounds across some of the sport’s most iconic and challenging venues. The season will conclude with the prestigious Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations in Ernée, France, on 4 October 2026.

The 2026 season will begin on 22 February with a yet-to-be-announced venue before heading to Argentina on 8 March, on a location to be announced soon for the now traditional South American round. Two weeks later, MXGP heads to Spain for the Doñana Xperience Almonte MXGP of Andalucia, taking place for the very first time in Almonte in the province of Huelva, in the heart of the Andalusian region on 22 March for the first European outing, followed directly by Switzerland in Frauenfeld on 29 March, the first back-to-back races of the year.

Then there will be a strong spring block in Europe. April will see the Italian double-header with Riola Sardo (Sardegna) on 12 April and Pietramurata (Trentino) on 19 April, both firm and regular fixtures in the early MXGP calendar.

The championship resumes after a two-week break in Great Britain on 10 May at a venue to be announce shortly, before an intense triple-header unfolds:

  • France (Lacapelle Marival) on 24 May
  • Germany (Teutschenthal) on 31 May
  • Latvia (Kegums) on 7 June

Then summer heat will start to come as the series travels back to Italy, with Montevarchi hosting the MXGP of Italy on 21 June, followed by another back-to-back pairing with Portugal (Águeda) on 28 June.

After a short pause, July resumes with a hot triple header, comprising of a TBA event on 19 July, before moving straight to Czech Republic (Loket) on 26 July. The back-to-back flows directly into Flanders (Lommel) on 2 August, creating a high-intensity triple-header.

In August, the action heads north with Sweden (Uddevalla) on 16 August and the Netherlands (Arnhem) on 23 August, another back-to-back weekend to close the European summer.

The decisive overseas phase of the championship begins the grand finale in September with a triple-header:

  • Turkiye (Afyonkarahisar) on 6 September
  • China (Shanghai) on 13 September
  • Australia (Darwin) on 20 September

This challenging run of three consecutive overseas races will bring the 2026 season to a spectacular close.

Women’s and European Championships

The 2026 FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship (WMX) will be featuring 6 rounds starting in Great Britain to then go to France and Germany. Going to Italy and Netherlands as it has done for the past few years and will conclude once again in Australia for an amazing final in Darwin.

The FIM Europe European Motocross Championships (EMX) will once again feature the EMX250 and EMX125 categories with 12 rounds scheduled, alongside selected appearances of EMX65, EMX85, EMX2t, and EMXOpen. The finals for EMX65, EMX85, and EMX2t will take its usual place in Loket (Czech Republic), while Lommel (Belgium) will once again host the EMXOpen finale.

In addition, the FIM Junior Motocross World Championship as announce earlier this year, will take place on 5 July in Jinin, Czech Republic, continuing its role in developing the next generation of motocross stars.

The season will conclude with the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations in Ernée, France (2–4 October 2026), where riders from across the globe will unite to compete for national pride in what promises to be an unforgettable climax to the season in the iconic venue.
