MXGP AND FOX RACING RENEWS LONGSTANDING PARTNERSHIP THROUGH 2029

ALMONTE  (Andalucia, Spain) 20th March 2026 – Infront Moto Racing is excited to announce the three-year partnership renewal Fox Racing, the global leader in motocross and mountain biking gear and apparel, continuing their commitment to the MXGP, FIM Motocross World Championship, and the MXoN, FIM Motocross of Nations. In addition to being recognized as a MXGP Global Partner at race events and across Infront’s digital channels, Fox Racing continues as the exclusive Holeshot Title Partner and the Official Apparel Partner, equipping all Infront Moto Racing staff.

“Fox Racing has been a partner of the FIM Motocross World Championship for over a decade, since we first committed to the Fox Holeshot award in 2014. Our partnership with Infront reflects our own mission - to equip and inspire the best athletes in the world,” said Mikey Rangel, Vice President of Marketing at Fox Racing. “But more than that, we’ve built trust and strong collaboration with the Infront team and their capability to execute events at the highest level in motorsport racing. This allows us to create even more value with our own factory team & athlete investments, to share experiences with key partners throughout the MXGP series, and to connect with race fans globally.”

Infront Moto Racing CEO & President David Luongo: “Fox Racing has been an integral partner of the FIM Motocross World Championship for more than a decade, and we are extremely proud to continue this successful collaboration for the years ahead. Since the introduction of the Fox Holeshot competition, Fox has brought added excitement and recognition to one of the most thrilling moments of our sport. Beyond that, their commitment to MXGP, the MXoN, and our global paddock demonstrates a genuine passion for motocross and its athletes. Together, we share the same ambition to grow the sport worldwide and to deliver the highest level of racing experience for fans, teams, and partners.”

The Fox Holeshot competition began in 2014 and continues today, celebrating the most exciting and top performing moment of racing. The first rider to cross the white line painted at the exit of the first corner at each race secures the Fox Holeshot, and earns one point in the special Holeshot classification. The rider with most accumulated Fox Holeshot points at the end of the season is awarded prize money, in both the MXGP and MX2 classes. The Fox Holeshot competition also extends to the MXoN and Junior Motocross World Championship with varying prizes at each event. Read more about the 2025 Fox Holeshot winners by clicking here.

Fox Racing is also a proud partner of Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing with Kay de Wolf and Liam Everts, Honda HRC Petronas’ MXGP team with Ruben Fernandez, Tom Vialle, Jeffrey Herlings, Valerio Lata along with Jeremy Seewer, Courtney Duncan, and Lotte Van Drunen. THE MXGP OF ANDALUCIA OFFICIALLY OPENED IN THE FABLED VILLAGE OF EL ROCÍO!

ALMONTE (Andalucia, Spain) 19th March 2026 – Just a few kilometres from the new Circuito di Motocross di Almonte venue lies the ancient village of El Rocío, which often attracts hundreds of thousands of pilgrims for its various religious celebrations throughout the year.  This Thursday evening, the village welcomed local dignitaries and organisers of the inaugural MXGP of Andalucia, as the gathering launched the event in the shadow of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Dew, the famous Hermitage that is the centre of most of the area’s festivities.

The village has hardly any paved streets, so locals generally ride on horseback over the sandy makeshift roads between the buildings.  Directly adjacent to the marshland of Madre de las Marismas del Rocío, it is a distinctly unique environment!

After a Floral Offering and a photocall in the Sanctuary itself, the Parish Priest and Rector of the Sanctuary of El Rocío, D. Francisco Miguel Valencia Bando, gave a prayer of blessing to the event before Rocío Moreno Dominguez, Vice President of the Provincial Council of Huelva, welcomed everybody to the area.

Daniele Rizzi, COO of Infront Moto Racing, joined Antonio Alia Portela, FIM/CMS Director, in expressing their gratitude for the welcome and hard work by the local organisers, as RFME President Ignacio Verneda, CEO of MXGP Almonte Antonio Parici, and Director General of MXGP Almonte Antonio Abad joined them onstage to show their excitement at the Championship making its first visit to the region.

The gathered dignitaries and fans were treated to the specially-composed anthem for the race, with its author Fran Fernández showing a startling video of how the race might look with wildlife surrounding the circuit!  After more delegates showed their appreciation for the event, the RFME Spain National Team was presented onstage, including WMX contender Daniela Guillen, EMX250 riders Manuel Carreras and Adria Monne, plus EMX125 racer Jordi Alba. Local schoolchildren flew the flags of all the competing Nations, with the largest cheer being reserved for the national flag of Spain, of course!

The flags of Huelva, Andalucia, and finally Almonte were carried to the stage by local riders on their bikes, filling the square with the sounds of dirt bikes for possibly the first time!

This historic region has certainly showed its joy at hosting the first European round of the 2026 FIM Moocross World Championship, and MXGP is clearly very welcome here for the very first MXGP of Andalucia!

WORLDWIDE TV COVERAGE – THE FIM MOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP HEADS TO EUROPE FOR THE MXGP OF ANDALUCIA!

ALMONTE (Andalucia, Spain) 19th March 2026 – The 2026 MXGP FIM Motocross World Championship fires into its first European round this weekend, as the new Circuito di Motocross di Almonte venue holds the MXGP of Andalucia in the south-western corner of Spain, near the beautiful coast of the Gulf of Cádiz!

Five-time World Champion Jeffrey Herlings lines up with the red plate for the first time since October 2021 after a commanding victory for Honda HRC Petronas at the opening round in Argentina, but the Qualifying Race winner Tom Vialle sits equal on points with his teammate, and the pair of them are just three points ahead of Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP’s defending World Champion Romain Febvre as we head to Almonte! The Frenchman won the last GP in Spain in 2025, but Herlings has won the most of any active rider in this country, with four GP wins to the Dutchman’s name under the Spanish sun!

Home hero Ruben Fernandez will be looking for success on his Honda HRC Petronas machine, in front of his passionate local fans.  Former MX2 World Champion Kay de Wolf is also confirmed to be lining up for his first MXGP class event as he recovers from injury with Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing.  The going looks to be soft, so maybe he has a chance for a shock result!

The MX2 World Championship is being led by World Champion Simon Längenfelder, keeping the #1 plate in red for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing after a perfect GP Sunday at Bariloche! Chasing the German in the series is the Triumph Racing Factory Team duo Guillem Farres and Camden McLellan, with the Spaniard eager for his first GP victory in front of his home fans in Almonte! The South African is also strong on soft terrain, so the circuit this weekend looks to be favourable for him as well, while Belgian stars Sacha Coenen and Liam Everts will look to catch up ground in the standings with their speed on this kind of surface!

As always, MXGP’s TV partners across the globe will help us bring one of the most breath-taking line-ups in the sport’s history to a television near you, as we are back to regular time scheduling at the first 2026 GP in Europe!

Here in Spain, RTVA, the public broadcaster for the community of Andalucia, will cover the full race weekend LIVE with Spanish language commentators onsite.  Galician channel TVG will also cover the races on Sunday as they have done for the last few years in Spain.

Below you can find a list of TV channels that will air LIVE and delayed action of the MXGP of Andalucia, as well as the 26-minute Behind The Gate magazine show featuring the best moments from the races, exclusive interviews and more.  Saturday’s Time Practice sessions will also be broadcast live as the team of Paul Malin and Lisa Leyland bring all the action to you as always, and all of this footage will be available on MXGP-TV.com and via our TV magazine partners following the Grand Prix.

As always, MXGP fans can follow the races LIVE throughout the weekend. All you need to do is log onto www.MXGP-TV.com Saturday and Sunday, from wherever you are in the world.  Come and join us for the first European round of the mouth-watering 2026 MXGP season!

TV COVERAGE ANDALUCIA

ALL BACK TO EUROPE FOR THE MXGP OF ANDALUCIA THIS WEEKEND!

ALMONTE (Andalucia, Spain)  18th March 2026 - After returning from the far-flung trip to South America, and possibly taking in some local races to keep up to speed, the MXGP World Championship Paddock prepares to race in Europe for the first time in 2026 as the MXGP of Andalucia takes place this weekend!

The brand new Circuito de Motocross de Almonte venue, which will be the 19th circuit to host GP Motocross in Spain, is located in the south-western corner of the country, just off the shores of the Gulf of Cadiz that leads to the Atlantic Ocean.  Only around 100km from the previous Motocross of Nations venue of Jerez de la Frontera, it should be one of the warmest areas of Europe at this time of year.

The two Championships are tightly poised as the red plate holders in both classes, Honda HRC Petronas new boy Jeffrey Herlings, and defending MX2 World Champion for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, Simon Längenfelder, both took victory in Argentina after scoring zero points in the previous day’s Qualifying Races.

“The Bullet” sits level on points with his teammate Tom Vialle, and only two markers ahead of reigning Champ Romain Febvre, with the Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP rider taking victory the last time the series visited Spain.

Längenfelder hold a three-point advantage over Triumph Factory Racing Team rider Guillem Farres, who will line up on home soil for the fifth time in his career with high hopes of delighting the local fans!

Almonte also sees the opening round of the EMX250 European Championship, with 50 riders looking to put themselves to the top in the absence of the top two from last year’s series.  The favourite, on home ground, is probably Francisco Garcia, after winning seven of the last ten races of 2025 for Venum Bud Racing Kawasaki. His teammate Jake Cannon, and fellow Australian Liam Owens for the Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM squad, are also amongst the leading contenders, as is Hungarian Áron Katona, moving up from EMX125 for Venrooy KTM Racing.  Adrien Petit won last year’s Spanish opener, so he could also be a threat on his Yamaha.  Last year’s EMX125 Champion Nicolò Alvisi will be another to look for, on debut for Maddii Racing Team Honda. Simone Mancini made his debut for Beddini Racing Ducati Corse in the MX2 class in Argentina, but returns to start his intended EMX250 title run for the new manufacturer in EMX250.

The EMX125 European Championship Presented by FMF series will also get underway in Andalucia, and as always this is a tough one to forecast at the start of the season with so many changes in teams and classes for the youngest regular racers in the MXGP Paddock!  58 riders are entered, and the top hopefuls include reigning 85cc Junior World Champion Rafael Mennillo from France on the 737 Performance KTM D’Stock 41 machine, with countryman Enzo Herzogenrath also likely to feature for TMX Competition KTM. Pau Caudet will have high hopes in his home country for the RFME Spain National Team, and British rider Drew Stock could be fast for JK Racing Yamaha after exceptional races in the bLU cRU Yamaha races last season, and a win in the British 125cc Championship last weekend.

The first World Championship action of the year in Europe has the makings of a fantastic weekend, with Spanish fans eager to see the riders in their new colours for round two of the ground-breaking 2026 season!

A new circuit always makes it tough to predict the top order in MXGP, as perennial contenders Febvre and new Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP signing Tim Gajser were the winners in the two Spanish rounds last season, albeit in deep mud at Cozar and the fine forest soil of Lugo.  The track at Almonte is likely to be a little more on the traditional hardpack Spanish soil, with the possibility of some interference from the weather!

Jeffrey Herlings has spent most of 2026 in Spain already, getting accustomed to his new Honda machinery, and is the most successful current MXGP rider in this country with two victories apiece in MXGP and MX2.  His earlier successes were at the Talavera de la Reina circuit, while two wins at intu-Xanadu Arroyomolinos included his record-breaking 102nd GP victory in 2023.

His Honda HRC Petronas teammate Vialle is one of five riders with two GP wins to his name in this country, with Tom winning back in 2020 and 2022.  Gajser won ten years ago at Talavera, and again in last year’s mudfest at Cozar.  The Slovenian is fifth in the 2026 series behind Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Lucas Coenen, who won two Spanish GPs in his 2024 MX2 campaign. Febvre’s win at Lugo last year was his first in Spain on his 12th attempt!

Maxime Renaux is sixth in the series for Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP, and he has also won twice on Spanish soil, including his first ever MXGP success in 2022.  The other rider with two GP wins here is Kay de Wolf, who is fighting to be fit in time to compete for Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing after just missing out on the opening round in Argentina.

Behind the second Red Bull KTM Factory Racing pilot Andrea Adamo sits the rider that most of the crowd will be rooting for in MXGP, Ruben Fernandez! The Honda HRC Petronas pilot has two podium finishes on home ground to his name, including third in Lugo last year, and will be desperate to put it on the top step in front of his adoring public!

Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP rider Pauls Jonass also has past success in Spain, winning MX2 at Redsand in 2018, and he sits ninth in the Championship after Argentina, ahead of the leading Red Bull Ducati Factory MX Team pilot Calvin Vlaanderen.

Gabriel SS24 KTM rider Oriol Oliver will make his first European Appearance on home turf in the MXGP class after taking 15th overall in Argentina, but the big question marks are at the top of this stacked MXGP field.  Who will come out on top for the first 2026 GP in Europe? Tune in to find out!

2026 MX2 Start Bariloche

Despite a difficult start to his weekend at Bariloche, reigning MX2 World Champion Simon Längenfelder managed to reclaim the red plate on his Red Bull KTM for the MXGP of Andalucia, but he is being chased by the pack as the series hits Europe for the first time!

The German #1 plate holder comes to Spain for his sixth GP in the country, and has surprisingly not had a massive amount of success here, taking a solitary GP win with a 1-1 in 2023, but missing the podium in his last four attempts, including an equal-worst season result of 6th overall at Lugo last year.

Local fans will be urging Guillem Farres to push his Triumph to victory, but his best home GP result is only tenth overall from Cozar last season.  The Spaniard is just three points behind Längenfelder and it will raise the roof if he can get on top of the box for the first time! His Triumph Factory Racing teammate Camden McLellan is only four points further back, and will be looking for much more than his best Spanish result of seventh this weekend!

Liam Everts had issues with the local food in Argentina, but still sits fourth in the series for Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing, and for sure he will be a factor if the weather takes a turn, having dominated the GP at Cozar in the mud last year!

Mathis Valin holds fifth in the Championship for Kawasaki Racing Team MX2, as he heads to the country where he clinched his 2024 EMX250 Championship, while his successor in that series, Janis Reisulis, looks to build on his strong debut for Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2.  He and his brother Karlis, also his teammate, took all three race holeshots in Argentina, and the blue team could be a stronger factor than expected in 2026.

Sacha Coenen sits between the two brothers in the standings, dropping to seventh with an unfortunate second race crash that was no fault of his own.  The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing flyer won the Qualifying Race last time out, and is likely to again be winding the throttle up to 11 as he tries to recover those lost points!

Cas Valk is ninth in the Championship as he campaigns the factory TM Moto CRD Motosport machine, with SB Racing KTM’s Jens Walvoort in tenth spot.  Honda HRC Petronas rider Valerio Lata was another rider tangled in that big Argentina incident, and will be after a strong showing on his favourite hardpack!

Besides Farres, there are a handful of Spanish wildcards, including the DB22 Triumph rider David Braceras, hoping for a better Sunday than his mechanical disaster in Argentina.  Beddini Racing Ducati Corse are also hoping to welcome back their new rider Ferruccio Zanchi to action in Spain after he missed the opening round.

The avid Spanish fans should have plenty to cheer about in Andalucia, and the Motocross world is eager to see the latest encounter in this enthralling World Championship as we start the first European leg of the tour!  Be sure not to miss a single wheel turn this weekend!

HERLINGS – PERFECT IN ARGENTINA

It seems as though, Jeffrey Herlings continues to put on a show. Making his Grand Prix debut on the Honda HRC Petronas factory bike, the Dutchman put together a 1-1 performance and show us once again, he might just be the fastest man on the planet.

It was something special as he worked hard for his victories and had to battle team-mate, Tom Vialle (also making his HRC debut at GP level) and defending world MXGP champion, Romain Febvre. In typical Herlings fashion, his starts were average, but he still managed to run these two down and get the victory.

“Going one-one in my first outing for Honda HRC PETRONAS is great,” Herlings said. “And a big thank you to everyone in the team who has worked so hard in these couple of months to help make this happen. It wasn’t easy, because in race one I got a bit of arm-pump after grabbing the holeshot, but I studied Tom’s lines and then made the pass near the end of the race. Then race two, it was a bit chaotic with the restart, but I felt I judged my energy levels well and was able to close the gap and then made the pass again near the end. Going one-one and taking the red-plate is about as good as it as it could have gone today, so I’m hoping to keep this going.”

If he stays fit and we all cross our fingers for that, “The Bullet” has every chance of adding world number six to his tally and maybe another 10 or more GP wins to his 113. We tipped him to win last week, I said he might even win easily and while 1-1 might look a little easy, it wasn’t. He had to fight through the pack on many occasions, make his way to the front, on a circuit that might not have been that easy to make up ground, but he did it anyway.

“Yes, it wasn't easy, that second moto I was second and somebody smashed it in there and I was 8th or 10th at the start, and passed all the top guys. Kept my energy for that second moto. Going 1-1 is pretty special and for the team, I want to thank them, Honda, Gariboldi, they worked hard for this. We had a small problem after the crash (on Saturday), on the bike, but today 1-1 and the first moto was easier than the second one. I look forward to the next one.”

The Saturday, Herlings showed he had the speed and being quickest in the sessions was blown by a bad start and then a slip over in the qualification race. We all know that Herlings is a diesel and a short Saturday race isn’t going to show us his best speed.

“The day went really well, right up until the start of the qualification race. I was fastest in free practice and fastest in timed practice, but then I didn’t get a good start in the qualification race, and it went downhill. I was battling hard on those opening laps but made a mistake on the start straight and went down. I worked my way back up through to field to 12th but not really the first race I wanted.”

Now, in a little over a week’s time, Herlings will head to Spain, for round two of the 2026 MXGP championship and around what is a sandy circuit, he will feel comfortable and confident of adding to his 113 GP wins. What the future brings for the rider known as “The Bullet” is unknown, but one this is sure, the world will be watching.
