Win a Dream: Ride in The EMX125 Championship

Have you ever dreamed of being an Official Yamaha rider? Do you ride a YZ125? Are you born between 2001 and 2005? If you have answered yes to all of these questions, here is your chance at a dream come true!

In search of Europe's next MX stars, Yamaha is running a competition where one promising young rider will be awarded a place on a fully backed Yamaha team for the 2018 European Championship EMX125 season.

The competition is open to all registered YZ125 riders who will be racing in 1 of 13 approved national championships. 42 of the best performing riders will then be invited to finish the season by racing in The YZ125 bLU cRU Cup Superfinale, which will be held on October 1st at the biggest and most prestigious event of the year, the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations, in Winchester, England. The riders who finish inside the top three in the Superfinale, plus two wildcard riders selected by a jury, will be invited to attend the bLU cRU Masterclass at the end of the season.

The Masterclass is designed to inspire, educate and develop the next generation of motocross riders by providing an exclusive insight as to what it takes to be a champion. It will be run by a highly acclaimed bLU cRU ambassador and will take place over three days where the jury will select and reward one lucky rider who has proved he has the talent, motivation and desire to be something great, with a contract for the 2018 European Championship EMX125 season on the MJC Yamaha Official EMX 125 team.

Registration is FREE and it closes on the 28th of February, so get in quick!

For more information and to enter, click HERE and fill out the registration form and send it to YZ125bLUcRUcup@yamaha-motor.nl

Upon entry, you will receive an email confirming your admission to the YZ125 bLU cRU Cup followed by a FREE bLU cRU welcome package which includes 2 x T-Shirts, 1 x Hoody, 1 x Umbrella, 1 x Cap, 1 x Backpack, 1 x bLU cRU sticker badge and an exclusive bLU cRU sticker kit for your YZ125 which must be used while racing your national championship, and, in the case of qualifying for the Superfinale, in the Superfinale and during the Masterclass.

Romain Febvre, Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP Team: "I think the YZ125 bLU cRU Cup is a good opportunity because if you get some good results this year in your national championship and win the YZ125 bLU cRU Cup finale you will be intergrated into the official EMX125 team where you will be given the best material to race. And not just that, but you will have a team of professional staff around you following your progress in training and at the races which will make your path to success as a professional Yamaha rider much easier."

Jeremy Seewer in 2017

When the 2016 season started, it became very clear that Suzuki Factory rider Jeremy Seewer was going to be a contender in the MX2 class. Snapped up by the new owner of the Suzuki Factory team, Stefan Everts, and having Everts by his side was a major reason for his success and Seewer is hoping it will be the help of the greatest GP rider of all time, that will see him reach his own glory.

“I really like working with Stefan,” Seewer said. “He has so much experience, and he can tell me a lot about how to prepare for a race. That is why I signed for 2018 and 2019, because I believe in him, and we both want success in both the MX2 and MXGP class.”

Everts feels the same way about Seewer and is looking forward to seeing him blossom into a possible world MX2 champion and also a good MXGP rider in 2018.

“Working with Jeremy has been a pleasure,” Everts said. “We have a good feeling and a good spirit between us. We have the same goal and same ambition. I’m very pleased that we could come to an agreement with Jeremy for the ’18 and ’19 MXGP seasons. It’s an important phase of my planning for what I want to achieve with the Suzuki Factory Team.”

At 22-years-old, Seewer is one of the oldest riders in the MX2 class, a class full of teenagers. Of course, the Swiss rider isn’t old, but he will be hoping the experience he has over his rivals will count at seasons end.

“I was very happy to finish the season in second place in 2016. I felt I had some really good rounds, and I enjoyed many races, but I want to do better this year.”

Seewer will also look forward to heading to Qatar, a place he enjoyed visiting last year. It’s a place he has done well, actually scoring a seventh place in 2015 after having very little preparation, and again in 2016 he showed good skills, finishing in fourth place overall.

“I enjoy Qatar, not just the racing, but also the place. Last year after the race we did some sightseeing in Doha. The whole MX2 crew and I went to the Pearl. It was impressive to see what people are capable of. We enjoyed some lunch in a nice restaurant, watched some Qatari’s going up and down with their Ferraris and Lamborghinis I remember in 2015 I was hardly riding at all before Qatar because of the studying schedule at school. Now instead of just an hour cycling on the bicycle after school I’ll be doing a gym session in the morning, then on the bike for an hour and a half in the afternoon and riding the next day.”

With names like Jeffrey Herlings, Max Anstie, and Dylan Ferrandis out of the MX2 class, the possibility for Seewer to score not only his first Grand Prix victory, but maybe also a world title, will start in a months’ time in Qatar.

MXGP3, The Official Motocross Videogame announcement

MONACO (Principality of Monaco), 26 January 2017 - Youthstream and Milestone are proud to announce MXGP3 – The Official Motocross Videogame is set to be released in spring 2017 on Xbox One®, the all-in-one games and entertainment system, PlayStation®4 and Windows PC®/STEAM™.

The new MXGP edition, based on the 2016 season, offers the player a dynamic, ever-more enjoyable gaming experience thanks to a series of innovative graphics and techniques introduced by the new Unreal®Engine 4 graphics engine which will take the game experience to a surprising new level.

Hit the gas and get ready to tackle unpredictable, dynamic weather conditions in a competition which is unique in its genre. From sun to heavy rain, every change will decisively influence the rider’s visibility and the highly-deformable ground, putting even the most expert player to the test. And it is the ground which provides the greatest challenge: mud, dust and dynamic deformations will be the master of all, while the sounds of engines running at full throttle, souped up with a brand new engine, merge with the ambient noise of chainsaws.

And if this incisive generational breakthrough, with the use of the new graphics engine, is not enough to satisfy the most discerning palates, players will also find themselves with a career mode and enhanced customization, along with all official MXGP and MX2 2016 riders, the official tracks, including the MXoN, both in offline and online modes.

MXGP3 – The Official Motocross Videogame will be available from spring 2017 for Xbox One, PlayStation®4 and Windows PC®/STEAM™.

Australian JAY WILSON joins i-Fly JK Yamaha in 2017

i-Fly JK Yamaha Racing Team is pleased to announce that 2015 Australian and 2015 New Zealand MX2 Champion Jay Wilson will join forces with the team in the MX2 category for the 2017 season, committing to the full MXGP World Championship and the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship.

22-year-old Wilson, who is currently competing in the UK Arenacross series for the i-Fly JK Yamaha Team, was recently offered the opportunity to fill the vacant MX2 position for the 2017 race season, and given his previous achievements with Yamaha, Wilson was the perfect fit when searching for the team’s second rider.

Wilson, whose lifelong goal has been to race the World Championship, says that he’s pinching himself that his dream has come to fruition and he's looking forward to lining up at the MXGP for the very first time when the series commences in Qatar on February 25.

“I can’t really believe that I’m finally going to be racing the MXGP with a manufacturer that I’ve had so much success with in the past. I’ve definitely been pinching myself the last few days that’s for sure,” Wilson shared. “When I arrived in the U.K the plan was just to race the Arenacross and then to come home. The team talked to me after the first couple of weeks of being here about racing MX2 and then everything fell into place really quickly. I’ve been out testing with the team at Montecatini in Italy where they’re based this week, and from here forward it’s really going to be about putting in a lot of hard work every day until round one in Qatar. This has been my lifelong goal, and I’m really grateful that I’ve been given this opportunity. I can’t wait to see what myself and the i-Fly JK Yamaha Team can achieve together this year.”

Echoing Wilson’s enthusiasm is i-Fly JK Yamaha’s Team Owner Riccardo Boschi who made comment on the team’s recent signing of the Australian whilst testing together at Vada in Italy: “It’s been a busy couple of weeks putting the deal together with Jay at the last minute, but we believe he is perfect for our team, and we are looking forward to the season,” he said. This will be my 17th year at the MXGP series and we enjoy being able to give these opportunities to young talented riders like Jay. I’m sure we will have a long and exciting season together.”

The Team’s UK based Team Manager Dickie Dye also made comment on the signing of Wilson to the i-Fly JK Yamaha Racing Team, and he says he’s looking forward to an exciting year of racing: “We are very fortunate to have Jay as part of the team for the 2017 race season,” Dye shared. "It was a twist of fate which created this situation, and we are all determined to make the most of it. While Jay continues to focus on the UK Arenacross for the team in the next few weeks, he is also busy getting race-ready for the first GP in Qatar. With the outdoor season looming, Jay will test the water a little in the Hawkstone Park International in February.”
