Video: Kawasaki riders carve up at MXoN

Last weekend another epic edition of the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations took place, where Monster Energy Kawasaki unleashed it's beasts.

Team France dominated for Monster Energy and Team Green, with all three riders, Gautier Paulin, Steven Frossard and Dylan Ferrandis taking MXoN glory. Meanwhile, Tommy Searle and Dean Wison, representing Team Great Britain, didn't do too shabby either with Searle winning the individual overall in MX2 and the team tying with USA for third (but ended up finishing fourth due to USA having the best race result on their score sheet with Dungey's second in race one). Other riders adding to the blurr of green ripping around the Kegums circuit were Team Australia's Chad Reed, most famous that weekend for cartwheeling down the start straight in the final race, and Team Switzerland's Arnaud Tonus.

The media team at Kawasaki Europe threw together a super sweet clip over the weekend. Click HERE to watch!

Kawasaki trio claim MXoN title for France

With an unrivalled display of team spirit the trio of French Kawasaki riders recorded their country's second victory in the annual event for national teams with a score of just seventeen points to the twenty-seven of second-placed Belgium and thirty-three of USA and Great Britain. Both team leader Paulin, who was the commanding winner of both his MXGP class races, and Open class rider Frossard won their respective classes, while Ferrandis, despite starting each time from the disadvantageous outside gate, finished third in the MX2 class, which was won by fellow Kawasaki rider Tommy Searle.

Paulin took his Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team bike to victory in the opening moto for MXGP and MX2 riders and, with Ferrandis ninth aboard the CLS Kawasaki Monster Energy KX250F, France opened up an early lead in the team classification with ten points to the thirteen of second-placed USA.

In the second moto for Open class and MX2 machinery it was Frossard's turn to do battle and he charged to second, while Ferrandis, unselfishly accepting the team's outside gate, again finished ninth to further extend the French lead as they now led by seven points from Great Britain.

With Paulin victorious and Frossard fourth in the final moto, the French set the seal on a glorious day, the first time for nearly 30 years that the winning team in the annual event have all come from the same manufacturer.

Fox Holeshot Films MXoN

The first five seconds of each race at the 2014 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations was mega interesting. The circuit of Kegums beholds one of the most challenging first corners in the world. The turn is a complete 180 degree’s, it’s a right hander and it comes off of a very fast straight. This means riders would be coming in fast and braking hard. With the sand surface holding a lot of grip, riders can be aggressive too. But what was the biggest challenge? Probably the fact that it is a right hand turn, and it’s a 180 degree one at that. This means the riders don’t have easy access to their rear brake, yet they have to turn sharp. Rectifying a mistake such as misjudging the entrance speed and coming in too hot becomes more difficult and bike stabilization is also hindered too.

Nevertheless, out of the three races, three riders would make it around the first turn first, which is a amazing feat on it’s own. To reward the hot starters, our long-term partners at FOX decided to award each FOX Holeshot receiver with a whopping  €1000 per holeshot. So whose pockets just got a little heavier?
