Yesterday, at the Unadilla National, Round 10 of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross, the AMA announced the 2014 USA Motocross of Nations team. Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey (MXGP) will lead the team for the sixth time and be joined by GEICO Honda’s Eli Tomac (Open) and Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha’s Jeremy Martin (MX2). This is the second consecutive year Dungey and Tomac will be on the team. This is the first time Jeremy Martin has been selected to the team. Roger Decoster will serve as team manager.

"If you look at the way Ryan, Eli and Jeremy are riding at the moment, we should be back in the hunt for a victory," said DeCoster in a statement. "The track we will be racing at suits our style, and all the riders are talented and on good equipment. Also, all of these riders want to be here, and compete for their country. That's what we want in a team."

"I'm excited to get the oppoutunity to ride for Team USA," said Martin.

"We are going back for revenge this year," said Tomac.

"As a little kid this is what you look forward to," said Dungey.

The 2014 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations will take place September 27-28 in Kegums, Latvia.

Following the press conference here at MXGP of Finland, the team which has been selected to represent Italy at the 2014 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations in Kegums, Latvia was announced.

Mr. Thomas Traversini, Italy’s Team Manager, revealed the team will consist of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Antonio Cairoli, DP19 Yamaha Racing’s David Philippaerts and TM Ricci Racing’s Davide Guarneri. Cairoli will be competing on a KTM250SX-F as the MX2 rider while Guarneri and Philippaerts will remain on their 450’s as the Open and MXGP class contenders.

Mr. Traversini said “It is like a present for Team Italy for Antonio to sacrifice himself and go back to a 250 bike so the team has the best chance at a good result”.

Cairoli said “It has been almost seven years since I rode a MX2 bike but for the last two years I have won at the motocross of nations so I am happy with what I have achieved and I want Italy to achieve the best position we can. I don’t think it could be any other way, I am the smallest and the lightest and I think going from a 350 to a 250 is not such a big step. I know it won’t be easy, I don’t expect a lot but I will do my best.”

FUNCHAL (Portugal), 12 February 2014 – Youthstream and Mediaset have reached an agreement for Mediaset to broadcast the MXGP, FIM Motocross World Championship 2014, as well as the MXoN, the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations, in Latvia, the Monster Energy FIM Junior Motocross World Championship, which be held in Belgium and the SNX, FIM Snowcross World Championship. Viewers will be able to follow all the races on Italia 2 and for the MXGP of Italy on Italia 1.

Mediaset S.p.A. is an Italian-based mass media company which is the largest commercial broadcaster in the country. Founded in the 1970s by former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and still controlled today with a 38.6% stake by his family holding company Fininvest.

Mediaset's headquarters are in Milan, Lombardy. Many of its studios are located in the Milano 2 area of Segrate, a municipality bordering Milan, where broadcasts of local station TeleMilano (now airing nationally as Mediaset's Canale 5) began in 1978. This agreement will give to all Italian fans the opportunity to see their favorite riders compete in the world's biggest motocross championship over the next two (2) years.

As the seven-time reigning world champion, the Italian rider Antonio Cairoli, will aim to win a fifth consecutive title in September.
