A strong line-up for Team 114 in 2016

The nice story of Team 114 will go on next season, and Livia Lancelot will have new teammates around her in 2016. The World Championship will remain of course the main goal of Livia, who met two new riders in her team: Yvana Demaria and the young Axel Louis.

Rider but also team manager, Livia keeps her legendary strong motivation for next season with the support of her partners. Livia the rider will enter two series: the French and the World Championships. Five times winner of the French series, Livia will of course focus on the World title after being so close to get her second title this season. With a stronger support from Kawasaki, Livia will start training for the Motocross season next week, just after the Supercross experience that she enters this weekend in Lille.

Livia the manager has good news for next season, as she will meet two new riders in her team. Injured this season Gloria Jacquemard will take a break, and it’s Yvana Demaria who will be her new teammate. The daughter of the former World Champion will make her GP’s debut, but her main goal is the French Championship. The team also met a young kid who impressed Livia; only 11 years old, Axel Louis will race on an 85 Kawasaki. With her strong racing experience at the highest level, Livia will provide advices and full support to both riders in a professional team.

Livia Lancelot: “As Gloria wanted to make a break after another knee injury, we reached an agreement with Yvana. I know her as we met in the French series, and I’m pumped that Yvana and her father Yves who has a huge career gave me their confidence. I’m sure that Yvana has a great potential, we’ll help her to get the best results. For the first time in it’s young history, the team welcomes a boy. Axel just started racing an 85, I saw him while training in South of France and I’m sure that he also have a strong potential; he will go for a top ten in the French hopefull series. My goal is to help both riders to reach another level, but for sure I will stay focus on my own goals. Nothing would be possible without my partners and sponsors, and I want to thanks all of them and especially Kawasaki, Bihr and Fox who provides us the best material.”

Yvana Demaria: “Moving to team 114 will change many things for me, and it will be nice to ride in a professional team, to have good material and to share with Livia her great experience. All these keys gave me another motivation, and reinforced my ambitions in this sport. For next season the goal will be to get a podium in the French series, and enter a few GP’s.”

Livia Lancelot continues with Kawasaki

Livia Lancelot and Kawasaki signed a fresh agreement during the Monster Energy MXoN last weekend for the French lady to race a KXF250 for the eighth season in the 2016 Women's World Championship.

Livia, who has been riding green bikes for most of her career and was world champion in 2008, had a great 2015 season despite narrowly missing the world title. Winning two GPs and scoring ten podiums, Livia also claimed her fifth French title after she won every round of her national series. The charismatic Kawasaki ambassador, who has raced all over the world including the USA where she twice contested the X Games, will add a new experience in November, as she will line up in the MX2 class at the famous Paris-Lille Supercross event. She will also continue to run her own structure, as Team 114 will enter its third year next season, with two riders and one young kid as Livia wants to built a long term project with this team and Kawasaki.

Livia Lancelot: “I’m really happy to sign again with Kawasaki for next year; this is the bike I really love and I didn’t want to change. I want to be part of the Kawasaki family as it’s a great one ! They also want to keep me so everybody is happy ! Of course they were also disappointed with what happened this year, and I know that my team has not so much experience to run engines during the World Championship so we found some really good options for next year with Kawasaki France and Kawasaki Europe. Team 114 will of course continue next year; we’ll again have two riders and maybe a kid will join us. It’s my new project; I want to start working with kids in the future. Last but not least, the season is not over for me; the last GP was in July, the next one is in February, so there’s a pretty big gap and I’ve decided to race the Paris-Lille Supercross. I know it’s a crazy idea, but I woulds say I will approach it smartly. I won’t put pressure on myself; I will prepare myself and will do my best in the MX2 class, but I will not take too many risks as the 2016 World Championship is my main goal.”

Steve Guttridge: “I’m so happy to sign again Livia for the future, she grew up with Kawasaki and she’s a member of Team Green Kawasaki. She had a fantastic year, holding the red plate for most of the season and has done a great job for Kawasaki so for us to continue the relationship is perfect. She is one of our most professional athletes and she is a good example for the younger riders, a great ambassador for us ! She did the X Games and Le Touquet in the past, we know that her next project is racing some supercross at the highest level and that’s also good for us. But of course the ultimate goal is for Livia to be again a World Champion with Kawasaki next season!”

That’s four for Fontanesi!

FUNCHAL (Portugal), 28 July 2015 – Yamaha MXFontaracing’s Kiara Fontanesi put the icing on the cake of what was an epic weekend for Yamaha at the MXGP of Czech Republic. The Italian female motocross legend, Fontanesi, wrapped up her fourth FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship with a smart 2 – 2 result for second over all at the sixth and final round of the WMX world championship last weekend.

In the six round series made up of twelve races, Fontanesi won five races and three overalls to remain undefeated for the fourth year in succession, which is a massive milestone for her as she made history as the first female to do so.

“I never stopped believing I could do it, I knew I could win because the speed was there and when you are almost three seconds faster than anyone else on this track then it means you can make the difference,” she said. “I am really happy and I’m the first female racer to win four titles in a row. This is really good and we are working well with the team. I have taken Pole at every round so I have been faster than the others and this is good to know we are working in a good way.”

Van de Ven & Fontanesi wrap up the WMX championship

LOKET (Czech Republic), 26 July 2015 - It was a day of peaks and pits at the sixth and final round of the 2015 FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship. Making up the ‘peaks’ were the performances of Yamaha riders Nancy Van de Ven and Kiara Fontanesi who both came away winners, while it was the pits for the championship leader Team One One Four’s Livia Lancelot who had the title slide through her fingers after a mechanical failure on the sighting lap meant she couldn’t even start the final race.

It was set to be the greatest race of the season. Two of the best female motocrossers in the world, both champions in their own rights, were supposed to go head to head for the 2015 WMX title. Only four points separated the two, Lancelot led, and it was expected to be intense but instead of being the nail-biting finale we had awaited, it ended before it even began when Livia Lancelot’s bike ceased on the siting lap.

The FIM rules state “5.17 - Each rider can bring one motorcycle only in the Skybox waiting zone; the one that will be used for the race”. Lancelot changed bikes, which meant she was not permitted to start and had to watch Fontanesi cruise to what should have been a hard fought victory, easily.

Putting the championship drama aside, the stand out performer this weekend was Holland’s young WMX prodigy Nancy Van de Ven who took her first race victory yesterday and then put in another epic performance today for the win and her first ever WMX overall.

Fontanesi had a hard time clearing her head after Lancelot had been refused to race, but managed to do enough for second. Meanwhile Motocross Marketing Silver Action KTM’s Amandine Verstappen was hauling on the opening lap after she took the holeshot but was pushed back to third by Van de Ven and the world champion, Fontanesi.

France’s Justine Charroux ended up flying the flag for the French with a solid fourth place while Denmarks Julie Dalgaard rounded out the top five.

At the end of the weekend, the top five overall replicated the results of race two. Nancy Van de Ven topped the box in convincing fashion with a double race victory while Kiara Fontanesi stood on the second step and Amandine Verstappen rounded out the top three.

After what was an emotional and dramatic end to a thrilling championship, Yamaha MXFontaracing’s Kiara Fontanesi wrote her name in the history books as the first female to claim four FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship titles on the bounce.

Team One One Four’s Livia Lancelot had to settle for a heartbreaking second while Nancy Van de Ven rounded out the season in third.
